I posted that one for sale a while ago in the CL find thread looks like the seller dropped the price some more.

Is the mod top and seat material reproduced these days? Or do you have to find the closest shower curtain material at bed bath and beyond?

Dr  Jill Biden might have a stash of that material. Seems like something she’d wear.

Any definitive info on the "S" vs 340-S? I've heard this story before.
As far as I know a 340-S is an S (A53)
Why would they make an S and not give it badges other than on black tail panel. And make a 340-S??

Not a Formula S. It is a 340-S, learn about 69 Barracuda s!

The S still stood for formula S. So 69 dropped the medallion on the fender, dropped the fish but added 340-S under the barracuda script which that car has none. I guess you can`t provide the story or add on that car like I asked? My guess it`s a mod top with a teener.
No need to be sarcastic and tell me to learn about 69`s , I`ve bought several good books on barracudas, and had to pull them out to check. Prove me wrong? I`m always open to learn...

Something definitive would be nice. I've heard the S vs 340-S and it makes ZERO sense that Mopar would make a 340-S and separately a Formula S.
I owned my S and researched for over 30 years, with still no definitive proof either way.
Makes no difference to me either way, sold the 69 S and now focus on our 67 S.

Just to muddy the waters, I *think* in 1969 the 340 was available in a Barracuda without the Formula S package. So no 340--S badges. I'm not sure, but the 340 stripes might have been available on a non-S 340 car.
I looked at a nice one back in the day, but I didn't want a bench seat column shift automatic. In a Road Runner, heck yeah, but not a Barracuda.

Well I searched Hamtramck and no mention anywhere of 340-S as an option. "S" and 'cuda pkgs yes.
I googled "69 340-S" and came across this link, IMO proves(to me) that the 340-S were simply engine callout for the Formula s cars.
Black tail panel and 340-S callouts. Wish I could read the fendertag in pics. Beauty of a cuda!
COAL: 1969 Plymouth Barracuda 340 Formula S – Heading East

Here is what I have learned in my research on 69 Barracuda with 340 motors:

The 340 could be had without the formula S package or the Cuda package.

The formula S cars had the black tail panel with the formula S badge on it.

The formula S cars had the 340 S badges on the front fender, except if it was a side stripe car with the 340 callout. The 340 S badges were replaced with fish in that case.

I am not sure if this is entirely correct, but I believe it is.

I might teach you grasshoppers a thing or two if I have the time. I am not on the 'puter or phone 24/7 like a few on here, I have been at Carlisle Chrysler for the past three days and am tired as ****, have to transport my 67 FORMULA S 383 4-speed Barracuda to DC in the morning then go to Albany, NY and pick up a 69 GTS 383 car and take it to Jacksonville, FL then back home to Chicago. I will let you guys stew on this for a few days and then give you the education you desperately need...
