Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
It’s been very quiet here today. I’m sitting in my car waiting for Wyatt to finish guitar lessons. I haven’t even figured out what I’m having for dinner tonight. Maybe pierogis and leftover chicken.
Remember those days waiting on kids and trying to figure out what for dinner. I raised most of my kids as a single parent so I know how a mother feels working all day and trying to raise a family.
Seems you do a good job Steph and you get the gold medal for being there for your family.
Say Hi to Wyatt for us and would like to here him play his guitar someday.

Afternoon everyone, warm but very windy out. Wife unit home sick so I was busy keeping her happy. All good sucked outside.

Looks like it's quite slow in the coffee shop today. Just came up from the shop. Working on a few odds and ends. Going to cook some leftover hamburger helper, add some extra bacon and some cheese. Go pick her up in an hour or so. Come home. Maybe eat some Ben& Jerry's ice cream. I like the chocolate fudge brownie variation

This is my favorite Mitch.

Note to self: build tree stand out of aluminum instead of 2x12 treated pine

Ok why? 6061 t6 is best for a tree stand.
Cause it weighs half a ton… i decided to modify the traditional ones we typically build to support two people so I can start taking the kids hunting with me more. And I wanted it enclosed for safety (and comfortable from the elements). So it’s 4x4x 6.5ft . Built out platform is built out of 2x8 treated. The risers are 2x12x14s. Plan was to build it modular and assemble on site but once the platform is attached to the risers, I can’t lift it up right. Too heavy. Even with the pulley system I devised to help. So for now, it becomes a ground blind for this season and afterwards, I’ll work the skid steer into the woods to raise it for next year.

Attached is the old one. No pics of the new yet. But picture this one with a box on top and you’ll get the idea

I just came in off the stand, coyotes created havoc this evening. Deer got spooked, would not come out of wood line. I guess I could have took thermal but season is young! I have two bolt 308s one setup for day and one setup for nights. Both are QD so I can essentially roll either way with almost zero effort. The QD technology has come a long way these last twenty years. A long war will do that for technology.

We can’t hunt with IR or illuminated or night vision scopes here. Can’t even have a stand alone unit for spotting here. Legal shooting hours are dawn to dusk anyway.

Thank you Fred. I will see if I can get him to play tonight and see if I can upload a recording. Usually I have to sneak a recording

70's here today been nice. I'm still on restriction until Friday when I get the stiches out of the eyes. I went out yesterday and pulled the leaf sweeper around the yard for a couple hours. Apparently one eye didn't like it and swelled up. I called the Doc sent him a couple pics and he said all was good. I iced it last night and feels better this morning...iugh!!

Glad that's it's good, sure you don't need a set back. Friday, that's not too far off, sure that will go well!
