I agree with you Randy but also remember that people put themselves in deep and living from paycheque to paycheque. Just lucky they don't have kids.
Your first house shouldn't be crowding 1 million and then go out and buy a new car and so on and so on.
No wonder they are losing homes etc.
I strongly believe it's the real estate agents that are sending the prices sky high. The higher the price the more money they make.
But we're not the only country facing hard times but we're in better shape than most others
I believe you are partly right with your statement about real estate agents. Adding to the mix is the “I want, I need, look at what I got attitude” I see in younger generations. Old man told me when I was looking for land to live on and I was bitchin about how much it was for well, septic fields. He said carry water, build an out house, nobody starts from scratch with a gold shitter. But what I see is 2400 square foot house, $65k car $80k truck all the toys and bitchin about how they can’t make ends meat. Expectations are way, way too high and the banks for some reason are willing to back them up. My opinion

Morning guys not much going on here as well but my boy and his wife are coming over tonight so that will be fun.

Amen.

It took me two wives, four houses, and over 40 years of hard work to get where I am, and have the stuff that I have, right now.

But two of my neighbors: Early/mid 30's w/$500k+ houses, two (or more) lifted trucks, ice "hotels" in the yard, $60-70k Lund boats, HD's and other toys in the outbuilding...and yet they ***** about the monthly payments.

With the exception of my mortgage I've always lived on a "pay as you go" basis. If I couldn't afford it, I didn't buy it, and that was that.

It's also a major reason I divorced wife #1, as she wanted to spend it faster than I could earn it.

There's a scene in Gran Torino where Clint Eastwood is explaining to "Toad" how he acquired all of the tools in his garage, and every time I watch that scene I want to smack my neighbors upside the head.

Picked up the paint supplies for the flip today. It is the 1st auto paint I have bought in years and they had to restart my heart after telling me the price. You body guys are really getting it in the rear for paint.

Yea and everything related has gone through the roof.

I'm starting to feel more and more like retiring lately. Work has just become so much more of shitshow every damned day. Either that or change jobs completely. Our most recent hire has become a real drama queen in the last 2 or 3 weeks, and I am sure as hell not going to tolerate that bullshit. Little prick thinks he's somehow entitled.
Well, today I was thrown completely under the bus by my boss. Another episode with the new guy, he threw a temper tantrum, calling me a "selfish, entitled, spoiled prick". I suggested that we go and discuss the issue with the manager, but his response was simply **** you, it's you that's the problem. So I went to the boss, and suggested that he should come out of his office and resolve the issue. He did come out, but the new guy stormed out, swearing and kicking the door. I looked at my boss and asked him if this childish behavior was acceptable, and said that I would not tolerate it, he shrugged and said, "what do you want me to do about it?" Umm, maybe explain that this is unacceptable? Your the boss, act like one!
This stems from 3 weeks ago when I was forced to use a different trailer for the day, and the new guy got pissed off because he typically used that one. As far as I have always known, the equipment belongs to the company, not the drivers, so I had a discussion with my boss at that time about it, and came away believing that he agreed with me. Today he did a complete about face, claiming that since the new guy was accustomed to using this particular trailer, it was his right to be upset. Further, I was told that if I did not acquiesce and take a different trailer tomorrow, that I should not expect to work. Well, holy ****, throw a temper tantrum, slam some **** around and swear at a coworker, and you'll get your way.

My attitude toward this manager is now changed, now that I know where I stand, I can no longer trust anything he says, so for now I will do the bare minimum, but under no circumstances will I do anything again to help the petulant child, nor will I do anything to help that is not related to my job. **** them all! I'm way too ******* old for this ****!

Think us old guys are getting the shaft.

Sounds like a lot of places are giving us old guys the shaft. I decided to ride it out at my place with only less than 4 years left I do the bare minimum.

So I ran the top color with it being too cold in the barn but I was able to chase the runs down into where the black will be so I can just sand them out

What are you using? Lots of cheaper options out there. Limco is cheaper or Omni. Have you checked with SPI. They have some fleet colors. You get what you pay for.

They sold me shop line
Insurance companies multiply the book paint labor number times a number. Right now that number is 48. So if its 10 hours of paint they pay me 480 for the materials. I lose on reds and win on whites. Break even in the long run. Self pays I charge the exact amount.

Good for you Randy

That was quite the commotion last night at the Rainbow Bridge Niagara Falls.
The showed a video of the car hitting the bridge and flying mid air.
Then the car burst into flames. They still have to figure out what went on.
Scary stuff but they said it wasn't an attack.

I was watching the news 2 days ago and this guy owned a Hyundai EV.
I think it was 5 years old and the battery went bad.
Get this. The repair bill was $55,000, yes you read that right.
He scrapped the car of course after Hyundai showed no interest in helping him.
Then all of a sudden after our news channel showed it they offered the guy 18,000 in compensation.
Funny how that works.
Have a great day
