They are worse than ever, covering up what I want to read, about things that are beyond irrelevant, and not even an "x" to be able to delete them anymore. And "adblockers" DO NOT WORK. I spend more time here trying to delete them and otherwise working around them than I do trying to read what I came here for.
And then when I get 3-4 of them cover the screen when I'm trying to post, it pisses me off.
Strangely I saw a similar post on FCBO from someone else but I don't have nearly as much problems with ads there as here. I don't spend as much time there as here but because ads aren't as much of a problem there I don't have to.
Is it only a problem on the F(x)BO site a person spends the most time on?
It's not quite as bad on the home computer as in the phone but still horrible to work around there too. IM FREAKING TIRED OF THIS BULLSHYT

More gold members would obviously reduce the amount of advertisement. It will reduce the amount of bandwidth needed to support the site thus helping to keep the price of the membership down. Win win.

If the OP thinks it is all about Joey's profit margin, maybe he should start his own website and see exactly how time consuming and expensive it is. And, not to mention dealing with some of the whiners while trying to appease everyone!
 
While I may not agree with Joey and the moderators from time to time on different subjects, this is still the best Mopar website hands down. There are decades of knowledge here that the members are willing to share with any one who has questions. Even though a greater majority of the members have built, raced and worked on our cars, none of us know everything. I've learned a lot by reading posts on areas that don't pertain to my bracket racing. I've also learned how to straighten out some of the things I did improperly during my initial build.

I tip my hat to all who contribute here by being Gold Members and support our site!!!

Hope you arent thinking about me being that cheap! No way in hell would I ever do something like that. I only mentioned the headlight harness as an example of how a reasonably affordable part becomes unreasonable after currency conversion, shipping , duty and taxes.

That wasn't for me it was in reference to the post that was above where I made the post/suggestion.meant towards a member from Canada who said our $50 meant $72 to him up there.
And no I'm.not "cheap". But again "some" ads would be alright IF they're for something in halfassedly interested in. Most aren't close.
But again gold or not they shouldn't be allowed to overtake and interfere with anybody coming here, to a point of spending more time here dealing with and working around them than what we come here to do.

As for "cheapness" I've been buying parts like crazy and shipping is what has been killing me. Not for an a body (which is really like to find one of these days) but for 2, 80s dodge trucks.
$$90 shipping on one deal, (ramcharger console, seat bases, and a handful of interior trim parts) $60 just on shipping for an aluminum intake, there's $150 right there just to get not very many parts here... And that wasn't a cent for the seller.... Just UPS.
Went to Iowa for 2 stops for parts 13 hour day on the road plus the azzhole camera ticket From a place I'd never been prior in my life ... No posting no nothing. For 1 measly mph over their "threshold".... Another $75 stolen from me..

Agreed, you're not cheap apparently just hopeless.

Easy for me to laugh I'll have to learn how to use this exceptional site and all its benefits of being Gold.

$90 shipping for console and seat bases? Sounds bout right to me. What would it have cost u in fuel to do the swap meet go round and HOPE you found what you wanted?

i don't know why you're having such a whinge about everything?

shipping is what it is. don't like it, don't buy the parts. or open a pirate or commercial account, ask for weight and measures and email them a label.

you were speeding, you got popped. nobody is out to get you. use a gps that alerts you to speed changes. set the cruise control.

don't like the ads? buy gold. or, update your commodore 64 or whatever ancient *** machine you have, install a good ad blocker and make sure it's on, clear your cashe, cookies and reset your history.

see there's options out there. frankly this all boils down to a YP...
