I’ve asked this before, thought I would try again. 73’ duster has 16 gal capacity. Looking to ad a bigger tank underneath and remove the tire well that was rusted out. Figure I would order the closest size and modify to my needs. Anyone have tank measurements. I’m away til Tuesday from storage and wanted to order by Monday. Thanks in advance.

How many miles are you looking to drive on a fill-up?

My 18 gallon tank 273 V8 2bbl I get about 200 miles per tank (to be on the safe side)

As much as possible. I’m so used to my 30 gallon tank in my truck, so the 16 gallon with less gas mileage would be almost annoying to fill it more than once a week (I plan on driving it a lot). Also, wanted to get something that would be safer than a stock tank as I do plan to eventually take it to the track. If I can find the right tank with safety features, that would be best.

Just go Mad Max style. An air compressor tank mounted in the trunk, its water drain valve can be plumbed to dump fuel into the original tank. Maybe even a cable operated valve, so it only lets fuel in when the original tank is getting low. The cap needs a vent, to let air in. Easy way to add 30 gallons of capacity!

If you're doing away with the spare tire well, just put the biggest fuel cell back there that'll fit. Yall got tape measures over there, right? lol

I'm away til Tuesday (well now next tuesday as I went on a parts run and missed going this week). I just asked if someone had measurements handy so I could just order a tank.
