I think ,unless I wanted 2-4 barrels , I`d send my polished victor (reworked by me ) to Wilson manifolds and let them straighten it up ...LOLNope lol

That's an interesting thought, Wilson isn't going to be a cheap bill. I know you can get longer runners if you modified a MM for a single 4. The modifications would be easier to do because you wouldn't have to straighten out the trajectory like I did for the 2 carbs. I don't think you'll get a single 4150 intake to beat this modified intake. I don't know of any 4150 wedge intakes making north of 800HP. If a guy was handy he could do what I have shown on his own.I think ,unless I wanted 2-4 barrels , I`d send my polished victor (reworked by me ) to Wilson manifolds and let them straighten it up ...LOL
I have a nice update on this manifold. It's been frustrating for the both of us because the motor wasn't running what we expected but I was very confident it wasn't because of the intake. So, Scott tried some different AFB's that were known to be good, where these carbs had a sketchy history. The car picked-up .2 and 6 mph from a outing 2 weeks prior with just the carb change and the weather was worse. There are still improvements to be had because the runs were made without the airpan. But it's a new best of 9.61 @139 in 3400ft DA weighing 3420# This is showing 12% converter slip as well so, I'm very happy.

I can't remember if Doug reworked some of Scott's trim when he was prepping the car. Funny I never spent much time looking at the car. I've tried, to no end, to convince Scott to let his dad convert it into a 2-door lol. I really don't have much time working on the car, I just did the motor (minus carbs of course, lol) Have we met before? It kills me how clean scotts car is.... My trim has soo many dings... his are like new. I have his old seats in my car now...
That's my next adventure! Single '4500 throttlebody' Holley Dominator EFI system on a custom intake for the Predator motor.I`m running a 1200 cfm throttle body (supposedly) , not interestd in goin back to carbs .
If I were to build a new engine set up , it would probly be 2 4 bbls tho....

Thanks again! In my 'formative years' of this hobby really NOONE was helpful as a teacher, and that was very frustrating. This has motivated me to share what I try. I pass along my experiences and what's worked for me. While knowing that a person can learn a bunch from mistakes, that same person can benefit from saving the time we've spent making them. Just the same you gotta do the work, using the opportunity to evolve from what is established.modifying and building **** yourself is cool, especially when it works well.
I should say it again to you Sean the stuff you do is pretty inspirational for a guy like me
Pardon my interruption lol. Were you ever able to test this against a readily available tunnel Ram?
I like that reply, thanks. I think the work he’s done is phenomenal. My question was with regards to being able to sell them. I don’t see a $1500 hand made option being viable when guys can spend $400 or so and make within 60-70hp of the handmade version. There are a select few who will want the extra hp AND have the cash. My knowledge of tunnel rams available for big blocks is zero so I appreciate it.Pardon my interruption lol.
I think readily available tunnel ram option is only the wieand and from my experience with the wieand design is incorrect from the start. They have a reverse taper in them, small at the top bigger at the bottom. That's the reason I had put so much work into mine & the end result looked more like an M1 / Indy tunnel ram compared to a D shaped runner entrance that changed into a rectangle.
I think Sean's mod man will blow everything away that can be purchased of the shelf.
You're welcome. i had to go through and look at the pictures a couple times and see the extent he went to, I agree.. phenomenal.I like that reply, thanks. I think the work he’s done is phenomenal. Nosir...the motor is in a NSS car with funny rules about hood scoops. So, anything available in a conventional TR was too tall. The M1 TR is decent but may not allow the larger MW port opening. This motor had an Indy TR with 4150's on it in my car and it's making more power now but I bumped the compression up from 11 to 12:1 with a piston swap. Were you ever able to test this against a readily available tunnel Ram?

Thanks! There are a few things I'd do different if ever again. Two main things are making the lid to accommodate some 4150's and then flipping the spacer 'inside-out' with the scallops in the inside to 1)allow more volume 2) allow a radius at the roof entrance. One thing to keep in mind is the best intake will be designed around the entire engine application for runner length and cross-section and plenum volume. This was set to peak just above 7000 on its 486" Indy SR-head motor. 275@ 050 .735" lift 110 lsaPardon my interruption lol.

They have to use era-correct scoops and they inherently aren't idea. Some cars go faster with them plugged. Typically the openings aren't above the boundary layer especially when they are set back from the front of the hood 'for looks". I'm not sure this answers your question now...I don't know the rules well-enough to know if you can run without a hood etc. I know NO 4500's are allowed.Just curious.. is there a rule about no hood or just a hole and no scoop?

Figured I'd answer your question now that I'm nearly finished with the transformation of my wieand. If INDY were to remake the BB WEDGE MODMAN intake, drastically improving it's performance AND it were available for either standard or MW port and B or RB. Where you could use either AFB's or 4150 Holley's. Would $1500 be fair for an intake that would require no modifications to get significant improvement over your single 4150 combo? I'm open to input as to where there is a market for something like this. (e.g.- MW low-deck would have the biggest market, etc)

Yessir, I assumed anyone local already knew about it. It was my first 'training wheel' motor in the Valiant. I stripped-off the Indy TR intake and 4150 carbs, Jesel belt, oiling system valvecovers etc and took it apart for a once over, ported the heads a little more and swapped the pistons from dish to flat tops. And of course volunteered to 'trick-out' the Modman for a pair of Doug's old AFB's that he had just gone thru.Is that Doug’s kids car?
When I was at PRI 2025 I spoke in depth with Chris and he said he would co-op some kind of deal to modify the intakes. Be-it casting changes or possibly DIY kits. I really wanted to gage a market and price to make it considerable for any parties involved. I'd bet a kit would do the best. Again It'd probably look a little different here and there intergrading 'obvious' improvements that would have required me more time to implement. I'm just not sure based on the lack of feedback that I'd do it at this point. It runs well. It packages nice under a low hood. It looks stealthy/era correct. It's a winner !finally! in my book.Figured I'd answer your question now that I'm nearly finished with the transformation of my wieand.
$1500.00 is a fair price, if it is cast like yours with all your work.
It's probably worth more.
