I have a 67 Valiant with a 3 speed (already converted to floor shift)... I believe it should be the A230 trans and I would like to pair it to a small block (360)... anyone have a bellhousing?
Where and how much please? (in box me if you prefer)

Thank you

I don't mean to start a discussion in a "Wanted" ad, but just to clarify things for you the A230 was a full-synchro factory floor-shifted transmission introduced in '71- no "conversion" necessary.
If your trans is a converted column shift, it most likely is an A903, a light-duty trans with a non-synchro 1st gear.
To visually confirm this, if the transmission is a "toploader" style with no shifter mounting provision on the tailshaft, it is an A903. If it has a side cover (like a four speed) and cast-in shifter mounting bosses on the tailshaft, it is an A230.
Hope this helps you get the bellhousing/linkage you need.

and they use different BellHousings.
and, the 360 will make mincemeat out of a non-A230 , in short order. Those were very low torque boxes.
IIRC the A230 and the A833, shared the same BHs, at least in certain years, having the dual-pattern.

1970 340 swinger had a 3 spd manual.

Contact Brewers . He is a member on FABO . He can clarify things and probably has a bell .

If you're going to use an A230 floor shift 3 speed, you'll probably want to use the '68-73 small block aluminum bell housing. That's probably the best setup for your '67. You could also use the A745 transmission and the '67-8 cast iron 3 speed bell housing too. Not quite as heavy duty as the A230 IMO, but, still pretty good. The A903 as mentioned is junk. The A250 isn't much better, but, ok for a cruiser. We'd need to know more about what you have to give better advice.

Building a 360, already machined .30 over, decked to 5.98 (magnum deck height), heavily considering stroking it to a 408, I'm on the fence about going to a 727 but I like playing with a manual too so idk... but if I stay manual I will probably go with a 5 speed eventually.
