i've perused the tomes and i couldn't find anything definitive on the subject.Watching.
A casual acquaintance years ago had Sandersons on his car, with P.S. I believe they were the DD9s, but I wasn't really paying much attention at the time since I had no plans to do an early A back then; so I'm no help with how well they fit or what may have needed to be massaged into place.
The pictures really look like they'll clear- but man, their website couldn't have a more muddled description of what they do and don't fit... The "no gasket guarantee" is interesting too.

I contacted Sanderson a while back and the guy mentioned that the original DD9's will fit an early A-body with P/S and an automatic. From what I understand they are supposed to fit pretty easy......
What kinda sissy needs power steering on an A body? A girl?anybody running the sanderson DD9 shorts with a power set up?

the kind that is gonna run a 200 tread wear 225 up front with 4~5 degrees of positive caster and needs a free arm for activities because of a bench seat. What kinda sissy needs power steering on an A body? A girl?
Oh so I was right. A sissy and a girl. Ok. lolthe kind that is gonna run a 200 tread wear 225 up front with 4~5 degrees of positive caster and needs a free arm for activities because of a bench seat.
the kind that also happens to have a firm feel stage three box with fast ratio arms
the kind whose replacement steering column is a power steering unit
also, my old lady is gonna drive it. and she weighs like less than one of your legs. probably.
Same situation here- wife laid claim to the wagon, so suddenly it got power steering (bad shoulder), power brakes and AC...the kind that is gonna run a 200 tread wear 225 up front with 4~5 degrees of positive caster and needs a free arm for activities because of a bench seat.

Well team this my barracuda and I sent the car to Sanderson’s to fit the headers and exhaust to my car. The motor is a stroked 318 to 390 with exhaust diameter of 2 1/2 all the way back. Here's a picture of the DD9's on a 66 Barracuda from a car show up in northern CA. I'm about to buy a set myself for a 65 Valiant. I contacted Sanderson a while back and the guy mentioned that the original DD9's will fit an early A-body with P/S and an automatic. I am in the middle of doing this set up myself. I have a ‘66 Dart with a ‘71 360. Personally I have the Schumacher design engine mounts and with the stock ps box there was no chance of the driver side fitting. To fix that I decided to spend a bit of a pretty penny and get a borgeson box. Passenger side slid in nicely. With the new box everything seems like it’ll fit in nicely but haven’t gotten time to actually fit them in. Can give an update when I do.anybody running the sanderson DD9 shorts with a power set up?

I still had the stock ps box that’s a size of a house at the time when I got them so at least for me the stock ps box was a major block and I also replaced my coupler with the borgeson piece when I switched out the box and seems it’ll fit in.I have the DD9’s on my 66 Barracuda…I do not believe the PS box will be an issue.
While mine has an aftermarket manual box, it had PS before. The only close encounter is the coupling between the box and steering shaft.
