Agree. I’ve been going since 2018 and only missed one year. I think the decision to live stream on FRDM+ made the beater race way too big and unnecessary. They wanted tv time at the cost of payed track time. We’ve made the decision to go out a day earlier next year and take advantage of open track on Friday.
 
I was in the same spot as you for a few years. Couldn’t find the right truck, until I started looking at Ramchargers. Then I found this one.

Now, if I had known before you bought yours, my neighbor has been talking about selling his truck. Original paint, drivetrain, everything. It’s a slant truck as well, and I believe it’s a 73. I don’t have a pic of that, but I’ll get one and include it here, just in case!

I’m not in the market for another D100 but if you found me a pre 75 trailduster in that condition I might trade two arms and a leg for it.

Small update, I’ve decided that just pushing a button taped to the column shifter while trying to shift and having no real on/off activation switch other than the bottle being open or closed is rather irresponsible of me. So I saw on tickperformance.com a blowout sale for an NOS 2 stage WOT/RPM activated window switch I couldn’t pass up, $49 when normally $299, so I jumped on it. And last night spent a little time making a bracket to mount it in the glove box and get some wiring done before it got too dark. Still a little more to do but this should add some saftey factor and keep the tech police happy at Pomona in a few weekends.

Can’t let a little weather slow you down right? I want to drive this garbage, even if it’s pouring rain and the roads are flooded. So, I bought some complete “classic” (aka plastic junk) wiper blades from Napa and stripped the inserts out of em, and installed the blade in the original arm. Then I yanked the drag radials off because I’m not a psychopath and I don’t want to end up cleaning out the ditch at the end of my street and stuck the all terrains back on. Oh, and I fixed the heater control valve so I can still wear my flip flops in the rain and my feet can stay warm. Screw you california storm watch!
