That's one of the options I'm currently considering for my latest jukebox resto. I know absolutely nothing about it, but I assume that since the juke would be kept inside the finish wouldn't have to be as "tough".

Yup! About 90% of what I had chromed on my "perfect" resto was pot metal.
Let me see if I can grab a photo off my Blog(!)....
My motorcycle buddy had some things powder coated chrome and to save money painted some things with Rustoleum chrome and the paint looked more like chrome
