Latter picture shows some polished SS pieces as well, along with the grille I had re-anodized later on.
You can't do bumpers with this but it looks good on dash parts. Chrome paint pens to do chrome details on dashMy motorcycle buddy had some things powder coated chrome and to save money painted some things with Rustoleum chrome and the paint looked more like chrome
I hate people like that, I'll let my sister know, Thanks Tike. You won't believe who will step up. Guys who didn't even know him just heard about it
The vultures will show up, sadly.I hate people like that, I'll let my sister know, Thanks Tike.
Yup!Those ‘ visible’ juke box’s are old school cool
Thanks Pete, I'll have to stay in touch with everyone so when I sell stuff I can get some opinions on what it's worth. It’s not easy to go through family heirlooms. Good on you to step up. And you have a lot of friends here
Don't know, and that was more of a question than anything....Is that a thing?
I had a pair of bezels done. They looked nice but not reflective. I would be tempted to have them wrapped. Is that a thing?
Your 59 is perfect, I couldn't find a flaw in it.I think I had approx 75 pieces polished or rechromed on my 59 Sweptside. A small fortune yrs ago, hate to compare prices now
nice! How long was your turn around? All rechromed.
Given the numbers that Johnny (JR Custom Plating) was throwing around when we spoke last, I would be scared to price that out in today's dollars!I think I had approx 75 pieces polished or rechromed on my 59 Sweptside. A small fortune yrs ago, hate to compare prices now

You know better than that, no such thing as an X Marine. Clearly just a hungry Marine!
I had it all done in 2017, and if memory serves, I think it took them a little less than a month. I could have got it done faster/sooner, but I (mistakenly) said I wanted it "done right, not done right now", so they put a "show chrome" finish on everything. Looks great, but it was a complete PITA to reassemble the small parts as I had to grind some of the plating off to make parts fit together properly.nice! How long was your turn around?
Yeah. That's a fact. I remember when Kitty's step mother died. They all met over at the old family house to look through stuff and pick out some things. We got there and they gave Kitty a box about the size of a large flat rate box and said "here, we picked out your stuff" and that's all she got. Not that material things matter. But they had met over there much earlier than they told everyone else and gone through everything already. Even in death that evil old woman still treated Kitty like a red headed step child through the hate of others. Makes me sick to think about it again. The vultures will show up, sadly.

Family members can be bad that way.Yeah. That's a fact. I remember when Kitty's step mother died. They all met over at the old family house to look through stuff and pick out some things. We got there and they gave Kitty a box about the size of a large flat rate box and said "here, we picked out your stuff" and that's all she got. Not that material things matter. I had a 1960 Corvette. Was originally a fuely car. Never got the fuley motor with it. But I bought it when I was 18 years old and I restored it myself. Back then you could still buy Chevrolet bumpers new. So I didn't have to have a lot of stuff Chromed but I did have to have some stuff Chromed and it was expensive then... Kept that car for 40 years before I sold it...Lots of stories to tell Chris, mostly with the 59 Vette. I did the bodywork and paint on it when I was a teen and it's been in the garage ever since. Also stories about the 30 Ford A convertible he has.
It is a thing; it depends on how good your power coat shop is and the quality of the powder but it can look really convincing. My buddy shoots smoked chrome a lot and it turns out killerDon't know, and that was more of a question than anything....
