Stop in for a cup of coffee

I was lucky, I have 5 siblings and we got through my parents’ estate rather well
Yeah. That's a fact. I remember when Kitty's step mother died. They all met over at the old family house to look through stuff and pick out some things. We got there and they gave Kitty a box about the size of a large flat rate box and said "here, we picked out your stuff" and that's all she got. Not that material things matter. But they had met over there much earlier than they told everyone else and gone through everything already. Even in death that evil old woman still treated Kitty like a red headed step child through the hate of others. Makes me sick to think about it again.

Most all these folks were trailer trash. Kitty is the top of the lot. There's no doubt they were step related. No blood there. I don't see how Kitty outlived her childhood, but I'm glad she did.

I hate people like that, I'll let my sister know, Thanks Tike.
I know this because I know the vultures. My neighbor brought home 2 antique tractors that he paid $300 for both. My mechanic got his Ford 427. ANother neighbor got his 54 Ford convertible he had since he was a kid. ANd there was a lot more.

I had a 1960 Corvette. Was originally a fuely car. Never got the fuley motor with it. But I bought it when I was 18 years old and I restored it myself. Back then you could still buy Chevrolet bumpers new. So I didn't have to have a lot of stuff Chromed but I did have to have some stuff Chromed and it was expensive then... Kept that car for 40 years before I sold it...
I tried to get him to get that thing on the road and told him many times I would come over and help but NO!

My folks are 91 and 89, and they still get around pretty good, but as my dad says, "It's only a matter of time, to be brutally honest...."

But I haven't spoken to my asshole sister in over 25 years now, so when "that day" comes, my wife has agreed to step-in and act as an intermediary between the two of us. Thankfully she (my sister) has done pretty well for herself (or so I've heard), and she's not a hoarder, or greedy, so maybe things will go smoothly.

We'll see.

That sucks.

Can't hit the "like" on that one, sorry!

I hope it does, too.

My mom's estate went pretty well. My father had died 15 years previously. Sure there was some money. I have a brother and a sister. Everybody got their share. After my brother's share ran out, he hung himself. There is that

When my mom was dying in the hospital my older brother wouldn't let us kids see her without having the covid shots.
Hospital wouldn't let us in without his permission. Don't know how he was able to do that but I haven't talked to him since.

Hate hearing that.

It's Tumbleweed Tuesday!

Good morning :D :elmer:

Reading back three pages, and old memories popped up so I will not go there... got to stay positive and move forward in life, looking back at bad negative times can't be good.
Just got back from the Aldies store, seen a list on the counter top sugar britches wrote out, and I wanted some fresh Bressel..sprouts.. and a small slice of fresh salmon to do a trial run on before Thursday. And grab some good gas for the lawnmower.. a little tree trimming should loosen me up, neck and left shoulder got a work out in the house yesterday, but the base boards and windows are loooookennn, good.

Missed gettin' into the 30s this morning by 2° Them grape farmers up the road probably had their anti-frost mechanisms going
 A friend's brother has a helicopter service for crop dusting and stuff. One of his major sources of income was just slowly flying over vineyards at a low altitude just before sunrise to try and minimize the frost damage. Looks like the weather geeks have backed off on their rain guess for the coming weekend. That should make the Turkey Night Grand Prix midget races much more enjoyable.

Well I feel like an ***. shipped a car part to a guy in Austria for free and told him just pay me back with a flag from his country or some kind of trinket to hang on my garage wall for the 75 bucks I paid for shipping. That was in July and never heard from him or received anything.
I PMed him and kind of chewed him out for not doing what he said he would do. Just received a package from him. and he sent me a big flag and all sorts of stuff. OK my foot is in my mouth for doubting him.
Think I'll send him an apology gift.

Ugh...

We've all probably been there, Fred.

Send the Mea Culpa
