I've been looking for a repro 18 Gal fuel tank but so far I can't find one that is correctly stamped on the bottom. Spectra makes one (CR11C) but it has the indentation cross wise on the bottom for a side-side strap (1st Photo). The correct tank has indentations for the two front-to rear straps.(2nd photo) The correct one used to be available but seems to be gone now. The original p/n was 2880417.
Anyone know of a source for the correct one?
Thx
Jim

Hey Jim,

I just checked Tanks Inc. site.

They show a tank for 1967 Barracuda and a different part number for a tank for 68-69.

Unfortunately, they do not show the bottom of the tanks in the pics on their site.

Might be worth a call .

Here's the link.

Cheers!

AL.

CHATNK 11C. Van's auto in Waupun, Wisconsin. Does not show bottom. Also in stainless. I have the stainless one in my "69 Dart, but bought it 5 years ago.

Try Jeff at 721 restoration. Got one from him maybe 4 years ago. Reasonable price. Crazy thing was they're manufactured in Quebec (spector ?) and he's in Colorado (I think).

I'm seeing the same four front-back indentations on the Spectra Premium CR11C as on the 2nd pic…it's just the Spectra tank also has a transverse indendation (for '67-down transverse fuel tank straps). Doesn't look to me as if the transverse indent would interfere with using the front-to-back indents.

Got this really fast reply from Jeff at 521 Restorations about possibly using the 70-76 A Body tank.
Hi Jim,
Pretty sure you're going to run into problems with the filler neck location moving slightly between the 68-69 tanks and the 70-76 tanks. Tank size is the same. Some places like to say the CR11C will fit 68-70, but it's the filler neck location moving that messes things up when you try to use a CR11C in a '70. Pretty sure you'll have similar problems trying to go the other direction using a CR11E in a '69.

Ive heard the same thing as well Jim(when I had my 69). The 1st to alert me to this was Matt, @moparmat2000 .
Matt may be able to explain it in more detail.
Good luck!

521 restoration used to make the 68=69 tanks but they have discontinued them. They only have a few 72s and up but the filler hole in the tank is in a different location. Its like a 1.5 inch off from 69 tank

I checked the part numbers at Tanks Inc.

They offer 3 different reproduction tanks for A-Bodies.

TCR111B ------- 1967 Barracuda/Dart

TCR111C ----------1968-69 Barracuda , 1968-70 Dodge Dart

TCR111D ----------1970-71 Dodge Dart/Duster

I can't see them offering the exact same reproduction tank with three different part numbers so they may reproduce the tank the OP is looking for.

See link.
