As some know who follow my thread, I did a tall fill on my block, the 1st side unfortunately was overfilled up to the bottom of the bolt bosses.
I drilled and tapped 3 holes on the side of the block and ran a small diameter masonry bit between the cylinders and one on the water pump housing area on the block to feed water.
There are the ends of the block that will probably not get coolant inside.

I was wondering if I should plumb another line to the back of the head in an effort to kinda keep those areas cooler?

Plan is -6an hose for coolant feed.

I'm just wondering if anyone messed up and how they fixed it without starting over with a new block.
Thank you.

I drilled and tapped a hole at the back of the block then drilled a intersecting hole into the port that feeds the back of the head. Then ran a external line to the back of block.

Thank you, I was thinking about drilling and tapping a couple more holes. If I can get coolant to flow around those parts of the bores that are blocked off I'd feel a lot better.

Seems like a good option, feed to the back (and sides where you tapped in), let it return to the front through the head up into the t-stat. Flush out the dust first so it doesn’t get into the system.
Thanks.
What I was thinking was just plugging those holes, and open up some of the head gasket slits so coolant can flow in and out freely.
Also trying to get some water moving around the areas that are trapped.
It's going to be interesting but I will definitely do some additional thinking on this.

I used to run a completely filled 400. I used a shogun water manifold up front on the block and the mopar stage 6 heads have threaded plugs on the ends. I ran -10 from the back of the heads to a resevoir before the little radiator then a meziere pump sent it back to the shogun.

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of that set up , would you?

you can see the 2 -10s crossing under the master cylinder those go into a Y and into the res and then into the top of the rad. The pump is mounted on the frame rail so the bottom of the rad hits the pump and then you can see the -10 right under the BOV and into the top of the shogun manifold.
Yeah I can see it now, thanks for sharing and telling me what to look for. I know it's 1/2 the state away but do you ever head east to renegade raceway?

I used to run dad’s car over there for the hotrod drags. But that was 30 years ago. I hope to get over there soon. Not sure the new motor will be ready for ‘26 or not but I am trying.

Same here, well hopefully I'll see ya out there sometime. Nice barracuda !

What's your new engine going to be ?

Here's the plan, I need to get a little better flow between the cylinders so some water can get down to the outer part of the block.
On the driver's side I'm going to install a freeze plug in the return and drill a 9/16 or 5/8 hole instead of the 1.125 .
In my head that will let the cylinder head and block fill enough to push water through the crossover hose in back.
I am going to do the line in -10 an. Better to have enough volume than not enough.
What's on there is -6an
