My favorite BBQ joint, McClintocks, just up the beach a ways from home had on their appetizer menu "Turkey Nutz"animal testicles are eaten globally, most famously as "Rocky Mountain Oysters" (bulls), but also from lambs, pigs, turkeys, goats, deer, bison, and even birds like ducks and ostriches, prepared fried, grilled, or roasted, often under euphemistic names as a delicacy or traditional food. These are typically from young castrated males, a byproduct of meat production, offering a mild taste similar to calamari or chicken when cooked.
. Always the first thing I told the server when we were seated at the table "Turkey Nutz please." Some sort of tender boneless meat, battered and fried. Add to that their house made salsa/pico de gallo, DELICIOUS. McClintocks always had the hottest servers on the coast
. First time it's a bit shocking
, but they never missed. I had to drive past the saloon everyday to and from work. They had a huge Pine Tree at the edge of their parking lot 100+ feet tall. One afternoon I drive by limbs are cut off
Few weeks later it was trimmed even more and de-barked. shortly after that this appeared
the roots still hold it up.
