I didn't read the rules....but some of those pans look VERY deep, and the carbs are almost out of this atmosphere. Are there rules for that?
My stuff was built to stay under a stock hood, so nothing applies to my kinda builds.
There ARE rules on the height of the carb base, as well as the design and dimensions of the oil pans. But looking at the ford, it would seem the rules dont really matter in that regard either.
There is a TON of power in the oil pan design. The wider and deeper the better122 – OIL PAN/SCRAPER
Pan must be of a stepped sump design with no more 9" in depth from the oil pan rail. Pan
restricted to a maximum of 2" wider on one side than the widest portion of the rail. Sump
configuration may be front, center or rear.
There is no way that oil pan fits.... i don't see how it's an advantage though
isn't there a point where the oil is far enough away without the pan being massive though? not sure how low that crank is swinging compared to the block rail though (no skirt i believe though)There is a TON of power in the oil pan design. The wider and deeper the better
Actually a BBM has a windage DISADVANTAGE. That skirted block is a windage nightmareisn't there a point where the oil is far enough away without the pan being massive though? not sure how low that crank is swinging compared to the block rail though (no skirt i believe though)
BB mopar would have a nice advantage there![]()
DOH! this is why i can't be an engine builder... i'm happy when **** just runsActually a BBM has a windage DISADVANTAGE. That skirted block is a windage nightmare
exactly my thoughts. it's a shame to have the competitors knowing the engine is illegal and still bring it. it shows the guys integity.... absolutely zeroIn his case it doesn't matter, he isn't competitive at all. But still, why even have rules if nobody is going to enforce them

Yes, chevy #2 has All Pro raised runner heads, which the rules prohibit in writing. Salter evidently told him they were ok to run, will be interesting to see if the rules are honored. The integrity of this whole competition depends on fair and honest rule enforcement.
When the description of the head from the vendor says raised runner, you think it might not be OK based on the rule.
Then the "but it's a commercially available 23* head" except for one of the exceptions written in black and white. That's some derpy ****.
You get the head submitted, it doesn't meet the rules, but organizer tells them they are allowed. Should have been a hard NO when submitted. Guy that submitted them shows his form and wanting to bend the rules passing responsibility. Bad form from the guy putting this dog and pony show on to not say no.
Salter knows his ****, he just looked at the ports and missed the raised thing..learning experience...
With square turns/bends....There is a TON of power in the oil pan design. The wider and deeper the better
the audio is useless.. i was just getting hp numbers from chatSome of the video, needs subtitles...
There's no kinda about it. lolGuys, the lifter bores have been corrected, but its 8:20 currently, and the block is one state away. We still have our spot if I can get the block back here early enough to assemble the engine, and make pulls tomorrow night. It seems ridiculous, but I'm kinda insane anyway
