it's always nice to see guys break rules and fail though :)
in my books still a cheater and always will be a cheater. if you can't follow the rules, shows how incompetent they are. they can claim to be smart but in reality dumb. something so simple as following the rules gets them stumped.
 
Guys, the lifter bores have been corrected, but its 8:20 currently, and the block is one state away. We still have our spot if I can get the block back here early enough to assemble the engine, and make pulls tomorrow night. It seems ridiculous, but I'm kinda insane anyway
That great. Sorry you still didn't make it, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying. Did the lifter bores check out by the numbers as correct?

i agree.. what sucks is 2 were basically cheating which means they would have only had 3 motors to run if they booted them also.. i hope people get more interested in this though.. i really liked the old engine masters or whatever it was called

The lifter bores were off location, the digital probe doesn't lie, our theory was correct. But they have been bushed and are now correct. I tried to get the engine back together this morning, until I realized I did not have the head gaskets I needed. Been drinking beer since, lol

The skirted block can't be widened.
If the pan mount is even with the crank centerline, the pan side can be kicked out a couple inches for full length, even with a sump.
EM did a comparison between a boat-style full length pan on a 800hp chevy
(roughly $600 pan) and an outrageously expensive Moroso two piece pan. ($1800, now)
The mo brothers pan made about 25 hp more than an already great pan. Real hard to get, at an 800 hp threshold.

yeah, never really thought bout how much of a difference that can make..
 

And the ford was bolted to the dyno yesterday afternoon, took all day to make pulls, and even though it wasn't even remotely competitive, they spent all day tuning it to find 10 HP. Carlo wont be on there till tomorrow earliest

Sean....did you go up to get the block? I know you're busy, but I hope you got to meet Kevin. He's a good guy to know!
 
I have no idea what this rule is on the 'raised' question, is this raised as in ports higher within the stock valve cover rail height limits? Or raised as in the entire head & valve cover is taller than stock?

That's the problem, it's not clearly defined. Like Greg said, it should be determined from the deck surface. Raised port heads typically have a raised valve cover rail also, to keep enough area to seal the intake. To the casual observer, it looks similar to stock. But the rules prohibit it.

Then they need to hold the hard line and DQ every single raised port engine.
