I have been in contact with CFE about making a single 4 top for the tunnel ram. I would love to test a single carb vs. the 2 toilets on the tunnel ram.

I have a pro systems 1050 alcohol dominator and a brand new mopar 772 intake that is begging to be used.

Next year I’ll do some testing just for curiosity.

Your place is like the long lost land of cool Small Block Mopar stuff! That's awesome!

Just wait till you see all the stuff I have hidden lol

CFE got back to me on making the single 4 top for the tunnel ram. $1,800 US. Way out of my price range.

Years ago, between 2012 to maybe 2017 I did a lot of engine dyno testing on BB Mopar V8s on five different motors both race only and street and strip. My point is on one motor for a customer we tested two different intakes, both Indy 400 intakes, a 400-3 with a single Holley 1050 CFM early dominator list #9375 jetted for max power and then switch that intake and carb to an Indy cast dual dominator tunnel ram with two of those 9375 jetted on the single intake, we were monitoring the EGT and ignition timing and spark plugs. That motor gained 30 HP from the single carb and intake to the dual dominator's carbs maxed out:wtf: Those tests were done in Klamath Falls, Oregon on a DTS brand engine dyno that had the latest software upgrades:thumbsup:

i would have never thought the single would make more hp, definitely not 30 more hp
I would run that for sure
you would run the single dominator?

Based on posts from another site from the past on the same topic...I think what CAB meant was it picked-up 30 using the 2x4500 on the TR. FWIW unless your CFE TR is wildly engineered for a different application AND the tune/curve is off, it's unlikely THAT cast single 4 is going to pick up the performance. NOW a 420 'done right' with a good carb using Q16 might be as good as the current CFE with 2 'inlets'. As for the single 4 conversion to the CFE...It's been my experience that by the time a teepee top that minimizes distribution issues is made, the plenum will be too big!

Too bad you're not my neighbor, i'd just make one for you.

I have a couple of single tops for sheet metal intakes.if you can post or send me pictures and bolt hole dimensions I may have something that fits.
i will send you some pics.

i read it wrong, my bad. the tune up is good. the plenum will be real big that's for sure
Yes i would try that single dominator for sure
it won't happen this year but next year i'll try it.

we are close enough!! 24 hr drive one way

i'm processing this out in my head as i want to make one. i don't think it would be that difficult.

We didn't have a tunnel ram top for that intake that would let us test a single dominator on it, we used the Indy 400-3 cast single plane single carb intake and then switch to the tunnel ram and two 4500 carbs.

Call Brett and get one of his intakes. I have one on the shelf for a 4500 and you could put a house-cat through that thing.
