Our neighboring city has their own municipal utility and they are tiered as well. It's hard to compare when the consumption is figured different. If I use X amount of electricity it is multiplied by the .10575 and that's what I pay. Plus other fees of course!

Cheaper per mile that gas powered especially at today's fuel prices. You have to look at the big picture. EV's cost more to buy, and are worth less when sold or traded in. (from what I have heard. You also have to pay more to license them because they don't pay road use tax at the pump like gas powered vehicles. They also put a strain on our already weak electrical grid. Many states are already having issues with electrical use. Charging EV's just makes things worse. Then if you want to go into it, the unfriendly raw materisls used to produce batteries and what to do with them when they are no good. Can they be recycled? That I don't know.

EV's are an option. I don't think they are the answer.

Try replacing that speaker when it fails! Probably cost $3000. Nobody wants a mute musclecar!

This is what I have found with my leased Charger 24 Scat pack:

My level 2 Charger plugs into my 50 amp welder outlet.

Charging at home with a level 2 charger, it costs about 5 cents a mile.

For comparison, my Dodge minivan at 20 mpg and $3 a gallon gas cost about 15 cents a mile. $4 a gallon gas is about 20 cents a mile.

If you charge on the road, it is much more expensive.

I went on a 300 mile round trip. Charged halfway. Cost $35. At $3 a gallon, it would have cost $23 in my minivan. At $4 a gallon, $30.

The moral to the story:

If you can charge at home, driving an EV is dirt cheap.

If you charge on the road, driving an EV is roughly equivalent to $5 a gallon gas.

None of this factors in the cost of the cars.

But, my minivan won’t run 11.5 in the quarter, or make you dizzy when you floor it.

They put almost 100k on it
Said other then tires evey 20k they only had to do a cabin filter

I have a friend who drives a Hyundai Ionic EV.
Powerful little car. It's a company car, charged at company expense, it's replaced her previous Hybrid. Ideal situation for her. No car payment, no fuel bill.
I have no idea what will happen to it when they are done with it, or how much it would be worth.
I still wouldn't want one. Her previous hybrid would be more interesting to me.

Said it can't make it to her mother's house on a single charge and the are older and need help
Like I've said for wife it would be fine
They aren't road trip cars
