Stupid A-Body Rookie Question

1973 Dart Sport...... originally has a 225..... I'm dropping in a '87 Ramcharger 318/727....... Do I use a rear sump or center sump oil pan?

Welcome to FABO Corn! BTW: You are going to need a center sump pan.

And a shorter drive shaft. You can cut it down. Also the rear size should be at least an 8-1/4. The 7-1/4's do not hold alot of power.
Use the /6 trany's mount and cross member to install the tranny.

I don't know Tom ... I've asked some pretty stupid questions in the past. ;) But yes, you are right, it doesn't matter. It just matters that they get answered.

haha, thanks guys. I've tried a few other sites for a-body stuff but have gotten contradicting answers. This place is great. I plan to have the drive shaft cut down to the new length. Even though the original 7 1/4 is wimpy, I will use it for now. The 318 is a stock std bore rebuilt with only a purple shaft cam, Edelbrock Performer intake, and 600 carb.... so it's pretty much wimpy too. Heck, it'll be a daily driver. When I come across a 8 1/4 or 8 3/4 then I will swap it out.
