My '64 dart. Parked in a pasture in '88 after a rear end collision which pushed the car into the side of a passing car.
this is how I found it;

I pulled the locked up 225 /6 and drained 2 gal of antifreeze out of the pan. After lots of cleaning, sanding and such I painted the engine compartment this morning.

I have an "allowance" of $150/mo for this which includes all other projects and maintenance on all cars.
I may have the Valiant 225 stabbed in this weekend.......

Lookin' good Mike! Keep up the energy and she'll be cruzin' before you know it! Also, let's see the step-by-step pics too. Good Luck

Nice,another inspirational thread! I'll subcribe..

Looks like it was fun banging out the dents.Been there...

The Valiant's 225 always had a backfire throught the carb with the holley. I put a BBS on it and the backfire was worse when cold, gone when warmed up.
Plugs, points and timing didn't change anything. I hooked up a vacuum guage and found it to be pulling 16in/hc at 1000rpm. Rocking the crank pulley back and forth I found there to be about 4* of slack, not bad, but got a timing set anyway.
This afternoon I pulled the timing cover and dicovered the nylon cam gear and 1" of play in the chain.....I think I just found my backfire.......
Engine gets stabbed tomorrow...

Right on brotha!

Good luck tomorrow and keep us posted!

got the engine in; started at 1430, finished (for the night) at 2030. Dropped the engine in, bolted it up, bolted up the tq conv. dropped the trans pan (had to chisel through 2" of mud), adjusted bands, replaced filter. changed the cooler lines. Cut rotten driver's side floor out. flushed and painted the radiator. installed fan and pulleys, belt. Tried to fix my mini starter, but had to swap it back out.
Should have it running tomorrow......

It runs!
Got everything done, a buddy stopped by and I put him to work. He pulled the gas tank for me and we found the top was rusted out......oh well. I hooked up my spare Courier tank for the time being.
I need to save up money to get some exhaust; Maybe once I sell the powerwagon.....Have no throttle atm until I fix the floors. I'm running a '61 225 carb for the moment, gotta rebuild the original '64 unit. Still need to time it as well.

I'm running a 6 blade fan from the Valiant (fact. a/c) I had to remove the add-on pulley and run without a spacer to make the rad. clear.
Heater blows nice and hot, guages seem to work. Gotta swap out the broken leaf springs and 7.25 rear for the Valiant's and the 8.25. hmmmmmmm
