So if you had to make a choice, which one would you keep???????? I have had the wife for over 15 years and even though I would sometimes choose to keep the car,I have to admit that I would keep the wife.

Definitely the wife I can always get another car, I might not find another to put up with my $h!t. Plus I hate laundry.
But if I was told that if I rolled my car in the street and set it on fire and my daughter would be taken care of forever, sorry but that would be one toasted Duster.

I've loved my cars more than all my ex-girlfriends. Hence the reason they're exes. But if I have to sell the cars to make sure my wife is taken care, then that's what would happen.

The car. The car doesn't get bitchy every 28 days. The car sits over the wet spot(well, if you have a leak) without complaining. The car is ready when you are. The car can be temper-mental at times, but you have a service manual to help you diagnose and fix it, the wife needs a combination of Einstein and Sigmund Freud to diagnose her moods, and then you are only hitting the surface, there's no understanding the workings of the wife.

Need I say more???

Oh, and , in the long run, the car will cost you waaaaaaaaaaay less!!!

OH, and one more thing, the car won't take everything you have, and make your life totally miserable just because you test drove a newer, verrrrry sporty model. Just a test drive, no purchase intended!!!

The car!! Fstforward hit the nail on the head!! I don't have kids so, she would be out of here, if I had to make a choice. Now if I needed to sell the to save her life well, that might change things. But if she told me it's her or the car...I would help her pack!!!:-D But that's just me!! :burnout:

Hence, that is why I live alone(well, 24 yr old son living here and 20 yr old moving back in for a short while).

I now have my dream job(well, have had it for the last 14.5 yrs), am working on paying all my bills down to totally manageable, have been considering raising the garage roof so I can fit a 4 post lift in there, or at least a 2 post. Peoples ask me if I will get married again, I give them a resounding "no". But then again, I am jaded because I spent ~20 yrs with a f___ing psycho *****. I have a couple of lady friends for when the need arises, but they understand the situation and that I am looking for nothing long term.

Happily Divorced!!!

If the law came to my house and said it's your wife or your car Victoria would have to go...:-D Oop's I named my 66 Valiant Victoria !
Know!! if for no reason my wife said it's me or the car or she would leave 8)
I would open the door with a big smile and know that she did not love me anyway 8)
If she let's a material thing get between my love for her and her love for me..
After 30 years reality is easy :-D

If you're already married the car will be cheaper to get rid of. If you dump the wife, she may get the car anyway......

I think that every woman has a plan set in stone,in the back of their heads. If they were to leave or be thrown out,it is there obligated duty to destroy you, financially and mentally.I,ve been through a few relationships(never married)1 very long one and a short 3 year one.I still have my cars, they,re what give me piece of mind.If I had to make the choice? There,s plenty of fish in the sea!

My ex did her damnedest to ruin me in every way, although, neither of us, nor our lawyers, ever had to spend a day in court. We did work things out thru offers and counter offers. My complete attorney's fees in my divorce were $1600. Now, as far as alimony...er...spousal support and child support, the good old state of Pa told me I had to give her $3400 per month, $1000 being spousal support, and $2400 being child support.

the spousal support can only be ordered for 2 years in Pa, so when it went away @ midnight 1-January-2005, I cracked the seal on a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 and proceeded to celebrate my freedom until not a drop was left in the bottle!!! Glad I had a designated driver.

As someone stated, there ARE plenty of fish in the sea, and I use unbarbed hooks and am strictly on a catch and release basis. Not looking to bring any home on a permanent basis, that's for sure. It's taken me too long to get back on my feet financially to throw it all away again, as I am soo prone to making mistakes.

25 years ago I found out my wife had cheated on me. Got rid of her but kept the house, the kids, and my '69 Dart race car. Gave her the choice of the paid-off '74 TransAm or the newly-purchased '83 Hurst Olds and the payments. Never looked back.
She ended up paying me child support for each of the kids.

There are women on every corner and they all can burn your *** in a heart beat if you don't abide by thier rules, the car never gives you any rules. It won't cheat, lie, run off your friends, through away your stuff, try to control every aspect of your life, or take everything you own when they break.
I understand guys standing by thiers, but they ARE easier to find than old mopars.

My ex got the house, I only had a company car, so she got no car, she got 1/2 of my pension from a former employer, and about 1/3 of my 401k from present employer, although that was moved to her account back then, she had all 3 kids, but eventually, each came to live with me, so the child support went away with each kids move.

A year after the divorce, she makes me an offer to sell me back the house, she couldn't do the work, or afford the place, so I bought it back (bought out her equity) and now hav emy house on an acre, detached garage, and am ready to start the imporvements, now that I can finally afford to.

If you let it, your car CAN control every aspect of your life, believe me!!!!
