I dig 'em and always have.
Denver has banned ALL fireworks to include snakes and sparklers. They SUCK!!!!!!! :bootysha:

My dogs pretty much freak out but a treat at every mortar soft boom has changed their attitude. :)

I like fireworks, the louder the better.Watched some from my second floor window Thursday night.I would like to see the world fireworks competition, that would be something.8)

I had neighbors that totally let it loose with some mortars last night at 11... Fine, but I had to be up 5:30 am....

Where the hell are they now? I want to see some serious stuff!!!!! Of course I am armed with dog biscuits just waiting.....

How do the hounds respond to fireworks? I know several people who's dogs have to be sedated to make it through fireworks/thunderstorms.8)

They are not fond of it but with treats, they'll get over it. It's all about positive reinforcement. Two days of this and they have already shown tremendous improvement.

Last thing a dog owner should do is act sympathetic during a storm or fireworks. That will make the dog feel as though it's fear is founded and reinforce the negative actions.. Dogs feed off the owners feelings and the key is to be not be too excited and certainly not sympathetic..... Be happy (not agitated at the neighbors) and give them treats. Sounds overly simple but it works and it takes but a day or two.

Every time fireworks go off or I hear a mortar "FOOM" I give them a treat right away. They are not thrilled about it but on the other hand, they are not hiding under the bed or barking incessantly. Cranking the music doesn't hurt either.

WTF! That sucks Ramcharger. Utah has really strick laws on fireworks also, but in the past I have smuggled them out of Wyoming. LOL. You can buy anything there. We normally drive out to a point on Bear Lake in Idaho and set them off over the water. Too much fun. This year it won't happen because I have to work over the holiday.

Yeah,i usually make the 45 mile drive to Wyoming to buy some but not this year,I dont need to have to pay any fines.:sign10:
There are sooooooo many people with them that the cops just cannot keep up with all the complaint calls, but im not chancing it though

Still legal here in SC. I've grown out of the ones you buy but really enjoy the big ones at large events.

NY is pretty strict about amateur fireworks. But that didn't stop us from buying them in PA and bringing them up on the farm when I was a youngster.

But that's alright. The pro shows look so much better.

My son and I buy them off and on and have a blast, alltho some around here love to call the cops.%#*& them

I might be an old fuddy duddy. I do like watching the big stuff but when it comes to the stuff you buy at the roadside stands, the pleasure is very temporal. I consider it to be a waste of money when you could stick it in a Mopar and enjoy it for a longtime.
Small Block

I live close to a reservation that sells fireworks, on the 4th we get to see all the fireworks we want for free. Starts about 8:00 pm and goes to the we hours of the morning. By the time it over there is so much smoke around you can taste it! Man I love the 4th!

Living here in Florida, there's a fireworks stand on every major corner. That means every yahoo can buy a trunk full. After all the years of having smoking debris falling on my car, house and lawn, I gotta say that I'm fed up with all of it! Too many irresponsible a$$holes have access to fireworks down here. I WISH they would outlaw them!

You aren't kidding entropy. I live on one of those streets.

Fireworks are great.... from a distance!!! They drive my dogs squirrelly though. They usually run for the basement shaking and stressing. We used to shoot them off all the time when the kids were small until I took a misfired Roman Candle in the eye once(my own fault). Lucky thing I was wearing glasses at the time but it still left a nasty burn under my eye and melted lens on my glasses. I figured after that I would count my blessings and retire from my pyrotech career.

Fireworks are the $hit. I like the feeling in the chest when the mortars explode. When I was a kid my father would take my friend and me to China town and we would spend a few weeks of allowance on all the "works" we could afford. Great times!

I have a friend who is a dealer so I only buy cakes and artillery shells and get them way cheaper than at a stand.

Sorry to hear ramcharger, We have them on every corner it seems, We don't buy any But we have some great fire work show's here in Jonesboro
We park our car and enjoy it on a radio station as they ad music to the fireworks show.
We make sure to park up wind of the location, we had trash hitting our car a couple years ago.

I just don't get fireworks. I voted for "hate them", yet its way too strong for my opinion. To me it just doesnt make any sense. I have relatives that spend easily 600-1000$ on the 4th and for new years and i've sat through all sorts of fireworks going off.

Maybe at one time it made sense to celebrate your independance by blowing **** up, but now its celebrate your "independance" by blowing up federally mandated **** up, if your area allows.

The actual fireworks shows(large scale commercial ones) are atleast neat to watch.

Artillery is the only way to go. Look great in the Texas sky. Hope the friggin rain quits.

I like the 4th. Fireworks are cool, some people are irresponsible with them, lol..But I have fun. Sometimes I buy my own from the stands, like I did last year, one of the 100 dollar packs...But that's usually all I will buy...I do like to social event though. Wish I had someone to spend it with this year...Instead of being by myself..
