    Mopar Action magazine DISCONTINUED

I just looked at the letter today. Looks like they are toast.

    Need some help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For what it is worth, the March 2014 issue of Hot Rod magazine details a procedure to check for an incorrect fit of the manifold to the heads. It starts on page 124 and is quite educational even though the engine in question is a big bock chevy. It is well worth the read. They used lead shotgun...

Help Needed - Budget 318 Sprint Car Build

One of the reasons sprint car motors cost so much is that only the best parts are used. The sprint car guys around here ship their motors off to have them refreshed depending on the number of laps they run. At the end of the season they get a full rebuild. If you think about it you might run ok...

    Compression Test Results

My thinking is that 70 p.s.i. would be adequate to get an idea of where your leak is. The one thing that concerns me is that you had a lobe go flat on your cam. If it occurred in a short period of time then it put a lot of metal into the engine. I think it would be a wise to take your oil filter...

    Sprint car motors?

Those non-wing guys can really put on a show. Separates the men from the boys. I have only been to one Nascar race at Phoenix and I would have to say that was one boring race. I much prefer dirt track racing over asphalt racing.

    Sprint car motors?

Now, after watching the Dave Blaney clip, imagine twenty-four of these cars on the racetrack at the same time going balls to the wall.

    Sprint car motors?

I haven't followed sprint car racing for a while, but I think the motor costs at that level start at $25K to $40K. They will be sent back to the builder after a certain number of laps for a refresh and get a total rebuild after each season.

    O' Reallys POS

I can understand the frustration of having to go back and remove/replace a rebuilt part. I went thru this with a 95 Dakota,2.5l,starter that I bought from Autozone. I have big hands and am 66 years old. By the time I had replaced the second starter I was an unhappy camper. Rebuilt electrical...

    power steering pump pressure

I think I have that issue of Mopar Action talking about the power steering pumps. Thank you for jogging my memory.

    power steering pump pressure

Are you sure? It seems high to me. The reason I ask is that I am thinking of swapping a magnum engine into a 63 Studebaker and want to keep the stock power steering setup except for the pump. I also need to find out what the original Stude pump put out. It is the same pump as a Ford unit of...

    power steering pump pressure

Does anyone have any idea what the outlet pressure is on power steering pump off of a magnum engine?

    [WANTED] Drum Puller

I actually got the idea from a Studebaker parts dealer named Chuck's Studebaker Parts. Look under the special tools section on his website and you can view a picture of it as well as instructions in it's use.

    [WANTED] Drum Puller

I built my own by using the front hub off of a 68 Ford. I used it to remove the hub/drum off a Dana 44 Stude rear end. Simply drive out the bearing races, obtain a very large bolt and nut(inch and a quarter) and weld the nut to the hub. Turn down the face of the ford hub that fits against the...

Musclecar Showdown ~ 1968 Road Runner vs. 1964 GTO

Actually, in showroom stock condition, it might have been a good race. I do think that the Roadrunner would have edged out the GTO. This would have been especially true if they both ran an automatic.
