    Thank you for all of the input! I do not have a torque wrench, so what is the general "rule of thumb" for proper tightening? I have heard that you want to get it finger tight, then give it a couple more rotations with a socket wrench. Is that about right, or not?

    Holley 1945 idle cam issue

    There is a "fast idle cam retainer." This piece sits on the outer side of the cam, so that it does not come off. However, I cannot see from the exploded image what it connects to, if anything at all, on the inside of the carb. Right now it is just flopping around.
