Yes - the newer bulbs are too short and don't press in tightly enough. I wonder if the solution is to find a new but different part number bulb that is longer. I don't know about replacing the housing because I was converting from a 70 grille so I didn't have the original Sharktooth sockets...

For my Sharktooth grille, I went with Dorman 85822 sockets recommended in a previous post on this forum. They aren't a perfect solution - the bulbs ride loosely in the socket - but I've managed to get them to work. If nothing else, they're a cheap solution...

I did this two years ago and I recall having the same problem. The screw has to be backed out of the plastic fitting which is probably stripped. You need to find away to secure the fitting so it doesn't spin so you can turn the screw out. Then you just pull the fitting though the hole in the...
