I guess the important infoni left out was the aluminum aftermarket heads. I had the problem with the steel heads and spark plugs hitting a casting "bump" but the aluminum heads have a smaller hole machined that won't let the bigger plug in all the way. I did some research on the trick flow heads...
I need help with which plugs I need. My current plugs are 13/16 and they hit the heads before they are all the way in. It's a 77 motorhome 440 in my 72 scamp with a fresh rebuild. This is the only thing keeping me from firing this thing up. Thanks in advance!
Hood clearance isn't an issue. I know the Victor heads would require offset rockers I'm assuming due to the larger intake valves. I forgot trick flow released a new set of heads. I'll go take a look at those too!
I have a side job that's about to wrap up and go into my "hotrod fund" . Looking for a set of aluminum heads for my Scamp. I have been looking at Edelbrocks and can't seem to make up my mind between the performer or the Victor. For the most part my car is a street car, but I do like to take it...
I have a 72 Scamp that I'm in the process of gathering parts to convert it to BBP disk. I have a set of 73+ rotors and calipers just trying to find spindles and control arms. I read on another post that all spindles 73 or newer are essentially the same, but what about a 73 van? I have one that...
I have a set of 29x13.5 slicks. My car is for the most part a street car that I have taken to the track once. There are some issues I have to get worked out both with me and the car. I have drag raced ATVs for years but my nerves were shot once I put my baby on the track!
My 2 things on my wish list are a 28-3200 stall converter and a set of 3.73 gears. I'm really not complaining about my car. First time to have it on the track and it ran a 11.16 in the 1000' at 92 mph and it spun 50' off the line.
The total timing is 36° initial I believe is 16°. My regular street tires are 26" (295/50). When I nail the throttle the tires never hook it just smokes them but I have never felt a flash in the converter
