Happy Holidays,
Do A/C parts from a 1974 Dart Sport interchange with parts from a 70 Dart 318? Does it matter if the doner system is from a 225 ci?
My Dart is an original A/C car missing all of the under hoad components.
Thank you,
John
Your right about the kickdown...you have to slam the pedal to the floor.
Do you know if the transmission can shift from 3rd to 1st? It seems that when I do hit passing gear the revs go crazy instantly. Can a stall converter effect the shifting of the trans?
Lastly, can the shift kit be...
Thanks Fishy68. The problem is that if I make shorten the rod, I get better shift points but then I do not have a kickdown. I cannot find a good compromise.

I recently had my transmission rebuilt (727, 3550 stall, 3.55 rear) and the shifts are crisp. Problem is that the shift points are too high and it makes the engine pass redline before shifting. I have to lift off the throttle slightly for it to shift to save the engine from grenading. Passing...
I can't seem to figure out this problem I am having. Recently, when I turn the steering wheel the horn will sound on it's own until I turn the wheel back to the center position.
I have a "Tuff Wheel" and I removed the cover and everything looks to be ok...visually. As a temporary...
Bill,
I had lifter noise once warmed and it turns out that the rockers were installed backwards...each cylinder should have a left and a right and they are slightly offset. Once it was corrected the noise went completely away.

I didn't have a breaker bar or the or the large socket so I bolted the started back up and tapped it until I got to the other 2 bolts....it worked fine.
Now I am having a difficult time getting to the top 4 bolts where the engine meets the trans.
Great write up Small Block...your advice will come in handy. My car is a 70 Duster 340 with 727 torqueflight. I know that I will have to turn over the engine to get at all the bolts on the flex plate. How do I do this?
Thanks Dartman. I'm thinking that it is the front seal. I went out and bought a transmission adapter for my floor jack. Will help with the removal/installation.
Any tips/suggestions on removing the transmission?
Ok, I put the car on jack stands and added 2 quarts of Dexron. The trans did not leak as the car idled in Park. As soon as I put it in neutral the 2 quarts poured right out. The fluid is leaking out of the bottom of the bell housing where the torque convertor is...right out of the inspection...
