    The 65 Valiant i ran a few years back would run 10.20's at 130 mph. The combination was 360 stock stroke, 11.5:1 compression, Heavily worked J heads, a Mopar .590 flat tappet cam, 850 holley, 8" converter, 904 with aluminum drums,. Car weighed just under 2900lbs. This was in bracket mode...

    So was it a Chevy or a Firebird? Push all you want just dont look down the carb when its running.... glad to hear you weren't seriously injured and are now a little bit wiser. I have done alot of dumb things and each time re-examined where my dumb *** went wrong and learned from the mistake...

    So rmchrgr you sure do run your mouth alot.. how does your car run? How quick is it smart ***? Have you ever raced a season in a class? Or a casual hit the track once or twice evet and brag about it for ever?? Lets see a handfull of time slips with a W? Or shut up.. fair enough?

    Wow... is all i can say... i have been around NHRA class racing for a long time..all mopars- usually 360's my family has run stock and primarily super stock, built lots of engines, set records, won national, and division races, qualified #1 at Indy... i was there helping build the cars, engines...

    :happy1: So is Stroked 340 going to answer? Oh and my combination was in 3 different engines... i had my primary engine my cousin ran the same combination and we had a spare engine to share between us .. all with the mp 590 cam all had several hundred runs on them... never a cam failure...

    So tell us about your combination that did not run good... its just a question.. no need to get defensive... pretty much all combinatins can be tweaked some to be optimized... gear, timing, carb, converter stall... lots of variables.

    Too many times a mismatched combination is blamed on the camshaft... What converter and gear ratio were you running?

    Yeah those .590 cams are outdated and dont run worth a damm.... I only ran 10.20's at around 130 mph in bracket mode... won alot of rounds with this combination This was just a typical pass on my old bracket car... 360 stock stroke ported J heads, .590 cam, victor 340 manifold, 850 demon...

    relocating battery

    I have always gotten my wire from the welding supply... finer strand carries current better and be ds easier. And usually cheaper too. Go with 1 or 2 guage at the smallest.
