The air-gap is a great intake, but the ports are the bigger 340 and 360 size. Your 318 heads have the smaller ports, there will be a port miss match, If you keep the 318 heads i would use the eddy performer the ports are smaller and closely match your heads.

I think that a compcam xe262 would be a good choice for your engine along the eddy performance #2176 manifold . A 600 eddy carb with a set of hedders and you will see a difference. If you wanted to go deeper, you can get those 318 heads milled to raise your compression a little with bigger...

I have a comp cam xe268, 477/480 In my 318, comp cams says thats the largest cam you should run with a stock convertor. The rpm band is 1500 t0 5800, car runs great.

Thanks , i will get a spacer never ran one before, but now is the time.

T67POWER, i never though about using a spacer? does a spacer add horsepower? and does it help with keeping the gas cooler, which the rpm airgap was meant to do.
