1972 Big Block Charger

-
I had a 72 Charger Special edition when my wife and I first started dating. It had "Brougham Edition" door tags. Was originally a 400 car, blue with white top. By the time I got it, it had a salvaged title, 69' 383, headers, 750 cfm eddy, 727, B&M slapstick shifter, 8 3/4 SG rearend, 3" exhaust, and some 295/50/15's on the back. It caught on fire the first day I drove it and I could never get it to run right because it had a crazy cam, but man did it look and sound fast.

Great work so far. Sure isn't hard to tell your house is a Mopar house by driving by, if someone was to just see in the garage after noticing what was parked outside, hahaha.

You body guys are like magicians to me.Now you see it,now you don't.Nice work Gary.8) Oh,and congrats on the magazine article.

hahah, well, I hope it doesnt stay that way for much longer. You do some great work! You deserved that mention!
It won't be a work bench much longer. Going to be jumping on it later this week or early next week. Have to get it ready to sell :(

And thanks for kind words :)

Looking great Gary. My bro got me hooked on the looks of those Chargers. Nice shape to work with too. Body on the Dart turned out great.

My brother stores some of those parts at my place.. The hood is like twice the size of any of mine, the fenders are freakin massive! The bumpers are monsters, and the dang doors are causing the floor to sag. I think maybe he's trying to compensate for something lol...

LOL!! I hear ya! I can't believe how long the hood is! Getting it straight is surely a challenge. I've already blocked it twice and am still not 100% satisfied. Gonna hit it again today. Hope to have it ready to paint by the end of the day...

Spent about 14 hours at the shop yesterday in 105 degree heat. Drank over 1-1/2 gal of H2O plus a few frosty barley pops later...

When I got to the shop, I sprayed on the final coats of primer. Cleaned the shop, did the final sand, re-cleaned the shop, soaked the floor down, taped the car, and went to town

Body looked great - can't wait to get to the shop to see how the clear flowed out :toothy10:

wow, I stopped and looked at a 72' charger the other day and it was nice no engine or trans (considering looking again now!) lol

Gary, I have this funny feeling I have been in your shop before, are you in Fort Worth? I think I bought some parts from you before.
