1969 Plymouth Valiant 2 door

-
Got a really nice rear door from a 4 door from a parts vendor there. Almost a shame to chop it, but, I guess there is not much demand for these.

yep, once it is welded, no one will know it is a patch! Ain't that the best?

Why am I not surprised in the least that it's green?

Awesome score. Mind if I ask what you paid? Just curious how the price compares to what I was quoted at the junkyard on the one I found. ($120, plus pulling it, stripping it, and shipping it- seemed steep to me, but whadda I know..)

Nice patch, John. Helluva cheaper than trying to find a quarter in good shape, that's for sure.

Let me know when you want my spare rotisserie, by the way.

Nice patch! We had to do the exact same thing, and used a 4-door donor door, on the '68 Valiant our club built as our charity raffle project car in 2008.
(Finished project shown in '67gtx' post on pg. 3 of this thread)

Did you continue with the blue on the bottom ?

Thanks
Ian.
Underneath the car? I have not gotten that far yet, but will likely spray some of it blue, and hit the rest with bed liner coating.

hey i'm doing a 68 valiant right now. Also in PA. And i also have some quarter issues. i was thinking maybe that body line matches with a duster (in front of the wheel well) i'm almost sure the wheel wells are different but that "dip" in the body line looks the same. My car is off getting a back half and cage right now. when i get it back i will start doing some thinking and measuring.

I think the "stretch" of the body line is different...I looked at my 71 Duster, and it seemed like it was different than the 69 Valiant?

Sweet ride Im restoring a 69 4 door and looking for metal. When i say that cut i got sick to my stomach. Im just glad someone is using it and not crushing it. Good luck

Nice ride! I'm working on a 67 Signet, it's slow going but progressing.

Hey 340, Is valiant done,on hold, just wondering. I know mine is on hold for .now because we gotta move.

Mine is on hold for now. Getting a few things for it, but not really spending much time doing what needs to be done.

honestly, nothing. Spent some free time scrapping out old daily drivers and junk cars on my property, and haven't really been rebuilding. Hopefully soon!

Just stopped in to see if anything was happening. Took mine for a cruise last week about 70 miles get home trans line leaking fluid all over motor. Took care of that stripped hose clamp had one in stock.lol Today just fixing up the winter beater, 92 Jimmy before the cold **** gets here....

Glad it was something simple!

I actually did get to do some work on the fenders a door and the trunk lid. Finished sandblasting anything crusty, metal etch primed or sprayed with rust converter, then primed with 2k primer. Looks so much better.

rust converter that I sprayed on two coats:

Then a couple coats of 2k primer that I had:

Once I get the other door finished and the hood stripped and primed, all of the removable sheetmetal will be ready to bolt on.
