thought about posting some pictures of my valiant-67 that I'm about to renovate. it has once been a Swedish police car, so there are disc brakes front and V8 torsonbarss.

at the moment I keep on renovating my 318 engine that has to start blue smoke

my English is not so good: P
engine setup
mopar 318 sb 5,2l
edelbrock carburetor
edelbrock performer plus intake
edelbrock performer plus camshaft .
flowtech headers x-pipe,
mopar performance summit ignition
4323302 close chambers heads
hayden oil cooler
fulecell 40l
235 hp. 727 automatic transmission.

Here are some pictures :)

engine out :)

Bonus picture. my best friend's opel diplomat-65 V8:toothy7:

more pictures will come.

Your English looked preety good to me. If I nit picked on what was wrong, it would be equal to throwing stones at my glass house. The 318 may be 5.2 ltr.'s, but at least here in the U.S., that becomes more of a distinction and a exacting term meaning the engine is a Magnum, not a "LA" engine. It may become a source of confusement.

Keep the pictures coming!

Very cool. Did it have the 318 originally?
C

That is very nice !
Your English is just fine ; no problems there .

I would like to see photographs of its interior ; the speedometre and everything ; a Vehicle Identification Number would be nice to see as well ( I am wondering where it was built ... ) .

Looks like you guys are having a lot of fun over there !

Thank you very much , Mopar Persson , for sharing those photographs of your nice Valiant !

I am surprised to see that it was assembled in the Hamtramck
( Detroit ) Plant , as I believed that Wyoming ( Michigan ) built / converted export cars .
Is there a metal tag under the hood which states its export status ?
I am not calling your car's legitimate status here ; I am just curious .

Thank you again :toothy7:!

Looks like it has the 240 KPH speedometer, but I can't quite tell for sure.

Wow nice work over there, I spotted that Volvo battery straight away. I work on Volvo construction equipment so it stuck out to me. Power disc brakes all factory and no interference towards the engine. Sweet set-up . I thought the government there was really tight on emissions. How much grief do they give you, or are you exempt by the age of the vehicle?

ok hehe. when the car is over 30 years it does not matter how much emissions it emits. the car is not regestrerad with a v8
but it HAS been inspected and they did not care about it :D

assembly of the engine has started with all new bearings and piston rings

cylinder heads have been ported

The automatic transmission is a 727 from -89 with mechanical lockup
but I am considering to using a 727-84 nonlockup instead

I was just now and picked up a complete 360 engine from 77. which will be drilled and stroked to 416 :burnout:

360

renovated 596 heads

engine block, which is in good condition

the stroker kit which I will use

got a nice package today :D

408 stroker kit

I will send off the engine block to be drilled 8-)

I will use this intake
Mopar Performance P4876334
RPM Range
2,600-6,600

and this camshaft I think
COMP Cams K20-602-4 RPM Range 2,500-6,400

Cam, Lifters, Valvetrain, Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Adv. Duration 295/312, Lift .507/.494,

Good to see good people taking good care of them old swedish a-bodies. They deserve it.

Update! I have sent off the engine block to a companie to being reworked
and it will be drilled to 4,030 =) my English is not so good :p

some more pictures of the car =)

You are doing great progress on your Valiant. Keep the pictures coming.
Agree, its coming along real nice.
Great to see someone taking proper care of a more door car here in Sweden, most of them are treated like sh-t. I salute you for this. :prayer:
