Fix it and keep it. A car that solid deserves to be repaired and driven proudly.

Alright!!! The Lex and Vinnie (and John & ABB) show returns!!!! :coffee2: Glad you are back on here and back at it on Lump. Looks like you have a plan, and a younger man's desire! That's a big job but the rewards will be a great car. Keep pluggin' away and good luck! :toothy10: Rog

The hole in the floor is probably from a port-a-power or whatever was used to push the door pillar back in place. Thats a hard area to fix, theres a lot of layers of sheetmetal in one area. It's nice to see a four door being fixed up insted of chopped up for parts.

Theme diddy;
Hit it!

Lot of crushed layers.
Still cutting today. Am now ready to start welding in the AM tomorrow.
Here's a few pics, see yall back here tomorrow.:pirat:

A little intimidating, but I'll keep going instead of stealing the drive trane for "Ashe" our 73 Duster. LOL!

Get a load of that hole now will ya!!!:puker:

Glad to see you back at it. I will get back after my Cuda after I finish my move to the new house. You gave me enough inspiration in what you do to replace the full floor pan on mine. Just remember it can be done because thats how they all started in the beginning a flat piece of steel.

Here we go!

Hit It!!

Damn, John, that looks good. :notworth: Looks like you are ready to weld. This is where I would get impatient and forge ahead lol. The alignment looks real good in the pics. Are you planning on tack welding the assembly then hanging the door to check fit? You definitely over the hump with Lump! Thanks for the entertainment with my coffee this morning!! :coffee2: Rog :hello1:

Looks like you got Lump's crunch straight........awesome work...

Thanks man!
Been busy lately, just not with Abodies!

The hole in the floor is probably from a port-a-power or whatever was used to push the door pillar back in place. Thats a hard area to fix, theres a lot of layers of sheetmetal in one area. It's nice to see a four door being fixed up insted of chopped up for parts.

Yep!
I've used that very same hole many times now!=D>

I can smell the metal working from where I am at. You are doing a fine job my friend. Careful or one day you could profit from doing this stuff. lol

Glad to see you back at it. I will get back after my Cuda after I finish my move to the new house. You gave me enough inspiration in what you do to replace the full floor pan on mine. Just remember it can be done because thats how they all started in the beginning a flat piece of steel.

Good Luck with the move.
My business model is changing to used from auction instead of junk. Not many calls for junk and everyone wants what they are paying at the yard!! So fix Lump, sell 2000 caravan flipper, use proceeds to go to auction with FOTO and bring our first repo auction flipper!

Damn, John, that looks good. :notworth: Looks like you are ready to weld. This is where I would get impatient and forge ahead lol. The alignment looks real good in the pics. Thanks for the entertainment with my coffee this morning!! :coffee2: Rog :hello1:

Even after paying to be on the rack last year, I still had to jack around, heat and beat, grind and find.....
Nothing better than a blind 50 year old dude with no training or experiance in bodywork or welding. With my passion of the darts though, I see it as artwork and treat it as a sculpture. The metal will talk to you, you just have to listen and see what it is trying to tell you. I'm no great spark with a welder but it will get buy....
I only got me and I aint hanging that door twice, forge ahead!! LOL

Tack hang check, we don't need no stinking check, I don't take checks!!:happy8:

Weld, bang, grind, view, bang, grind, view, clamp, weld, bang, grind, clamp, view, weld.....:happy6:

Really though the whole thing is like a puzzle, it only fits one way. However, after a hit like that, there are things that don't quite fit just right, that's what a sledge hammer is for!!:naka:

See ya here tomorrow!
John

Looks like you got Lump's crunch straight........awesome work...

Thanks Man!!
Nothing like a little common sense mixed with a little patience, add to that a dash of balls, a cup of don't give a crap, and a few cloves of no money but got a welder, and
VEOLA!!!:smilebox:

Time for kitty hair now after a good grinding!!:yawinkle:

Ground it all down.
Rust converter put down on floor pans after prepping them.
Looking at the only 2 fenders I got. 1 is too rusty and the other has too many dents.
Anyone got a drivers side fender and splash shield for Dart 73-76?
If so, let me know, I need one now!!:sad7:
Test fit a fender, just to see what it looks like.

Really could use a drivers side fendie and splash shield though!! LOL
