I was wondering, the wheels on my Dart are showing some small rust issues, now I like the 14" steelies, they are currenty body color FY4 and I was wondering should I touch them up or scuff them up and paint them black?

Body color
Your car looks very clean in your avatar.
You might consider looking for a second set to restore / sandblast / paint.
This way the originals are preserved, and you end up with a nice set of wheels.
Black will not look correct on a 4-door.

Think that goes with your style! Body color is sweet stock. Black is mean and suspicious??? Got any tricks instore

Body color like my original 70 Swinger 340 always looks good to me. There are a set for sale on Seattle CL for sale for cheap. If you want them, we could work something out for cheap.

keep body color. scuff them up, prime and repaint them body color. looks 100% better then a black wheel would on that car..

I agree, and FWIW I have some extra 14" sbp steelies.

Only if I drop in a 383 or something great and honkin' :D which is not likely, as this car has drained me of all my cash right now.

I agree. Now that i think about it, I like the look of black wheels on a car but with a 6 'tween the rails, I can't lol.

Looks Sweet! Take your time and have fun! You can always change your mind. Once you clean them up, it's not so hard to redo the color.
Just for perspective, this is the look I liked..... for mine.

Body color and pie plates are the ticket with your car.

yuppers, gotta roll with that 70Dart, Niiiice Mopar btw !!!

P.s., 63MorePar...
'perspectives' indeed --- IMHO, body color or black on Yours would be...
mmm... "incorrect" . 'chromies' :thumrigh:

I can't see how bad they are but here are my choices.

1. I wouldn't mess with them if it is only minor scratches.

2. If they are bad (compared to the rest of the car), I would paint them body color. If painting them body color you will need to get a close match to your old paint or it will not look right. I went through this with my 68.

In the end I had to get my paint scanned so I could get the correct formula.

3. Semi gloss black with beauty rings. My car was this way for some time and I liked the look.

4. Get some cool, full wheel covers and not worry about the wheel paint. I did this on the wife's 73. The wheel covers are from a 68 Dart.

you poll is misleading, I thought you ment repaint whole car or touch original gold up or paint black didn't see anything to do with wheels. obviously leave the wheels be or repaint the whole wheels in your choice of color weather it be gold or black don't just touch it up
