my gauges would work off and on (like most of my interior wiring), now they just dont move at all. where would i start checking to see which parts/connections are bad? any input appreciated... thanks. :)

check your grounds

I'd replace the dash voltage limiter. They typically go bad as they age on these cars. Does your charging indicator still work when the other gauges do not? if so thats likely the problem, as that gauge is wired seprate from the rest.

I had heard that the voltage limiter could be the problem, I bought one from napa but it doesn't have the same amount of prongs, idk where to find one that fits.

what do you mean charge indicator? as in the battery d/c? yes that is working fine.

There it is again,
"All you need to do is bend this little thingy".
Good luck with that.

well if you dont want to bend the little thingy just do what i did get a piece of insulation plastic the kind they use in electric motors and cut a piece th fit between the contacts on the points to disable the factory set up. then no need to bend the thingy.and the dash-worx VL dosent require your gauges to be recalibrated . but some will disagree im sure

I just slipped heat shrink over the wound rod to disable it. The "rally dash" means you have a tachometer. I suggest an electronic "voltage limiter". Much more accurate and dependable, and only $30. Search for that on ebay.

I like all the help that redfish has given to folks on this forum. He also makes and sells an electronic dash voltage regulator. I've looked at that one someone mentioned in an earlier post and found the website confusing and the product description kinda self serving.
