what the hell is FBO for B body's only ?? tell me I have been out of it for a while..I like a reworked stock dizzy with the chrome box and put a spare next to it just in case...............Arite

Ran the FBO box with Accel distributor and worked very good, no problems. I changed to Rev-N-ator box to get rev limit. Performance was about same coouldn't tell diff. But the rev limit saved my engine when trans slipped.

MSD 6AL. blaster 2 coil, with a MP dizzy set up at 34 degrees total on my 360 magnum. I keep a stock points dizzy, with a ballast and a spare coil and some wires with alligator clips on them in the trunk. If the dizzy or box craps out or the coil craps out, and I'm out of town, in about 15 minutes I.ll be on the road again.

I run a Mallory in my wifes car and a DUI in mine. Both are great except the DUI has no rev limiter. My MSD lasted 3 years and it cost the same to get it rebuilt as it was to buy a new one.

If you read tuner sites like Megasquirt, the consensus is that the best ignition is distributor-less single coil per plug systems like almost all recent engines use (Mopar's Hemi). There are always compromises when plugs must share a coil, especially at high rpm. The GM LS coils are easiest to adapt since they have a built-in ignitor. Simpler is the Ford EDIS which many Megasquirters use, but has 2 cylinders sharing a coil ("wasted spark"), which requires only a crank sensor. The dream for my 273 is LS coils triggered by EDIS combined w/ Magnum cam sensor. I have most parts. Of course, this isn't a "write big check" system, but can be cheap (my motto).

I just wanted to put my .02 in.

I had a 70 Nova once with a mild 350. ran a good 12.8 in the 1/4. I installed a Mallory distributor during the time I was building the car up. six months later I was driving the car and after about a month the hall effect sensor in the distributor went leaving me stranded 50 miles from home. needless to say I was pissed. I called Mallory up and they said they wouldn't warranty it nor would they sell me the sensor separately. I found a small electronics company online that sold this style sensor and installed it myself. I got it running, sold the ignition system immediately and went MSD.

I'm sure this is just a freak thing but it left a bad taste in my mouth. That's why I just ripped the system out as soon as I got it fixed. Needless to say I won't be buying another Mallory product.

i run a crane cams hi-6 cd ignition and a crane cams lx91 coil plugs gapped at .045 on my 360 magnum and I like the crane set up, rev limiter is easy to get to and operate with the dials and it fires up every time and run goods. Have not had any issues with it all.

I said it yrs.ago and still say its hard to bet ma mopar.and you would have to prove it to me from a dyno sheet and only then If I seen it myself.they're cheap easy and you used to pick up the box at any junkyard for free.I can carry a trunk load of boxes for what a msd cost.its hard to bet that chrome box.the msd was made for top fuel back in the day for t/f. I bought one put it in a real race car loved tell it stop working a week later ya.see how many of them you can borrow:violent1::finga::finga::banghead::sign3::prayer::prayer:eek:nly with your first child........haha if you're rich go for it.if you like riding let me know how you like it...........if you're along the road in a mopar i'll stop and give you a spare and you can thank me for your so called MSD box..........have fun Artie,,,,,,,,,,,,ps.hope i'm not stepping on any toes.

I haved tried mopars orange box and chrome box, with good performance from both.12 sec, on orange mid tens with chrome. Then went to msd ,seemed like every 2 years ,I had to replace their box(tried a lot of things to solve issue)even got their dizzy and had issue getting curve right, was at track one night and was recommended to try fbo, bought the box and coil and it was a noticeable difference, car started better, idled better and picked up a tenth, been their every since. That being said I started moving my boxes to inside car,no extreme heat(engine compartment) and water running down on box(routing cleaning of car)
