Each time I clean out my truck, I look at the various wrappers from food joints and wonder just how much longer I should be eating corn dogs, Del taco burritos, 7-11 taquitos and such.
I'm 48 and in decent shape. I have good endurance and feel younger than my years. NO blood pressure issues, non smoker, no drugs or booze. I work construction so I get daily exercise.....Still, I wonder.
Maybe I'm one of those guys that will live to 100 still eating Twinkies, Cheeze its and Whoppers from Burger King.

To each their own. I stopped eating junk food altogether June of last year.

I don't have that problem.....I don't eat in my car for starters....and, if your eating or drinking while driving, and you get caught by the cops, you get fined....not a little fine either, a few hundred bucks.

If it ain't hurting you, why stop?

I'm in such bad shape. My doctor told me that if I take EXCELLENT care of myself from this day on... ...I'll get very sick and die....

(So why take care of myself if it's gonna kill me?)

I lived on junk food for about 25 years while I was on my service truck, still am, but now I eat junk maybe once a month. You have to think down the road, you need to stop now. You don't have to stop completely but you need to try doing what I did, good luck.

I found once I stopped eating junk food I lost my taste for it. Fast food and junk food can be hard to replace since for the most part "at least for me" it was a matter of convenience. Most gas stations now have a few healthier options and I can usually find a better lunch option than a burger.

Eat ,drink, and be merry, for 2moro ye shall die....never 2 late to take better care of your body, everyone is different, but the better you do the less likely you will have probs later in life....my health is bad due to asbestosis and a severe heat stroke....and I still smoke

They just released the findings from a study that saturated fats do not cause all the mayhem once thought. It was all over the MSM bout a week or so ago.

I am sure it's not good for you but we each have different genetics. I say as long as you get your yearly checkup from your doctor, and your numbers are good, eat what the hell makes you happy.

I'm eating whatever I want so this doesn't happen.

maybe you can and maybe you cant its all in your genetics the question is are you willing to take the chance.and you can have perfect blood preasure and still have heart trouble this I do know.

If you're asking this question, now is probably a good time. You can still treat yourself but just not eat it every day. It's not the calories or fat so much as all the weird chemicals and additives that our bodies were never intended to consume.

they call that fast food junk "heartbombs"!!! and for a reason!!! LOL i beleive food is a HABIT where it be eating too much or the wrong foods.
they say a combo of exercise and right foods is what matters. i/m 66 and have lost several of best friends in their 50's and it wasn't due to the BurgerKIng either.
honor your good health as long as you can, as you get older you WILL wear out!! me personally, i did the things in life i wanted to do while i was young enough and didn't have the plan to wait till i retired to do them, knowing fool well when you retire you are probably too old and tired to do them, now i just can't afford them!! LOL

You sound like me, I got six years on you. I had my heart attack 18 months ago. After a few weeks, healthy food tastes better than the junk food ever did.

I'm 65 now...had 3 Heart Attacks between age 40 and 42. Quit eating junk food for a while but gradually gravitated back. I ate a lot of junk food when I was working cause it was easier to grab a burger or some taco's and eat in my service truck and then get back to work. When I retired 5 years ago I ate more at home and not much junk food but I still like a good old greasy burger or my favorite junk food pizza once in a while. I'll NEVER quit eating it when I want. As far as I'm concerned quality of life means just as much to me as quantity of life.

just keep in mind that all this health crap is only for people who have nothing to die for

Thanks everyone. I guess being aware of a poor habit is a good first step toward correcting it.
During the times that I have started an exercise problem, (Along with improved eating) I never lost the cravings for burgers, Tacos and such. I suppose it will always be a matter of resisting temptation.
I'm 5'10" and 190. I have decent endurance and strength. In 2006 while at my peak form, I was 170 with a 31" waist and a ripped stomach. I still wanted what we call "junk food" all the time!

I was a-ok till I turned 50. Found out I was diabetic and high blood pressure. Now I can't have any junk food and have to watch everything I eat.

you DONT have to stop compleatly. i took kind of care with the food most of my life. iam 65 now with a lot of family trouble now. iam ready to go. but i have to take care of my mom. if its not one thing its an other.

I don't think all of it is all that horrid. I rarely get fries, or coke. I eat hamburgers at Carls Jr, and rarely get cheese, I get Ice tea, and get their "Super star" without cheese.

I haven't eaten at McDonalds and in fact almost refuse to.

I almost never eat tacos, that crap at taco bell is almost unedible to me. I do fall off the wagon once every couple of weeks and get deep fried cod at zips.

Sorry to learn of this, Moe.
I may just make the move and start weening myself away from most of the crap food this month. I enjoy sour cream on my Mexican food, Cheese on burgers, salads & pizza, etc. I just wish that the healthier food tasted better. I've tried many types of healthy food that are filling but way too bland.
