Has anyone installed the headliner in the 64,5,6 with the window still installed. I need to replace mine and do NOT want to pull the rear window. Any tips and tricks?

We did my old 66 Barracuda with the glass in. There is enough flex in the gaskets to get the headliner installed.

The interior guy that did my falcon used a white nylon flat tool and lifted the rubber and glued it down and the rubber holds it down . He backed it up if it fade he would redo for free

to do it OEM right, you need to pull the gasket. There are Dragon teeth up there that the headliner pulls over, no glue needed. Probably thee worst job on the line, my fingers hurt for days and I just did one! Pulling gasket and rear window is not that hard, pull lock strip and get in there on your back with your feet up. Push up at the upper edge and itll pop right out, just have a friend to catch it. Installing is a little more involved, set it on there and run the gasket lip over the window with a plastic spatula. Keep working around and the window will set right in, install lock strip and your done. Hardest part of headliner is getting corners not to bunch up. Ill pay a pro next time.

When I was a kid I liked to hang around local shops and watch-help. The guy there would work around glass removal in certain cases. I don't recall why, anyway... he had some special little tools that looked like maybe modified surgical/dental tools. 90 degree clamp, and one with a ring on the end to set the fabric onto the metal teeth. I figure he and the mechanics shop next door worked up these handy dandys.
R&R the glasses isn't so difficult but the butyl sealant doesn't cooperate when cold.
Hotter the better.
be sure to cover the floor hooks that hold the rear seat bottom in place. Those things can eat your knees. good luck

Thanks fellas. I have installed headliners before but this car with the window like it is will be a challenge with it installed. Hope someone that has done it themselves with it in has some tips. The rubber gasket wont hold stretched healiner material by itself. I need to figure out how to get pressure on it.
