Yes this is a vent. If you don't want to hear it, now's the time to try another thread.
So here's the story. If you look a my avatar, you will see a picture of a Dart with no wheels. I have no wheels, because I was going to put Cragars on it. Called Summit. Out of stock. Called Jeg's out of stock. Jeg's calls Cragar, Who says they have the wheels, but no center caps. Jeg's says we have center caps, just send us the wheels. Cragar says no. Won't sell them without caps. The caps are somewhere on the docks due to the work strike or slowdown, whatever it was. Kudos to Summit and Jeg's for trying to help. Plan b. Decided to go with 15 inch steel wheels. 15x6 in front, 15x7 in the rear. I called Wheel vintiques and asked if they could change the backspace on the rear wheels from 4 inches to 4 1/4. They said no problem, just order them through Summit, and we will make them, ship them to summit, and they will mount and balance the wheels and tires, and Summit will ship them to you. I call Summit, they say no problem. It might take up to 40 days. I wanted to cancel right then, but there aren't allot of choices if you want the 4 inch bolt pattern. so I had to do it. Summit says I should get them by 3/27. No wheels. So I call Summit. They call Wheel vintiques, and they say another2 weeks . So I call Wheel vintiques, and asked if they can get them any faster. Man says it takes 4-6 weeks for a special order. I say no one ever said that to me. He keeps insisting that they tell everyone that. I know that's not true, cause that was never said to me. He refuses to do anything to help. just kept repeating the same thing. I keep repeating that I was never told that. I expected 40 days, not the 6 weeks he was saying. My other point in this is, they are a wheel company. It should take them an hour to pull the centers, and rims from stock. another hour to weld them correctly. another few hours to powder coat them, and package.
I can't see 6 weeks to do 2 wheels. Now this guy says What are we supposed to do? stop everything and do your wheels? My reply is if it takes that long to make 2 wheels, they should hire more employees to take care of their customers. Finally I just hung up.
Now I have at least another 2 weeks, probably more to wait. This sucks. What happened to customer service?

speaking of sucking centerline sure does , had custom wheels made for my street rod , they forgot to undercut the area for the valve stem , wtf how does this make it through quality control . wanted me to send them back so they can finish there mistake , and make me pay for return shipping ,gfy . good thing i have a machine shop . what about the average guy how dosent . imo dont buy there stuff either. ed dartman 440

customer service is overseas in a non-english speaking country.
did you ask on the board for these wheels? there are threads with reputable individuals that can make them?
hopefully you get your wheels make sure the backspace is correct when they arrive,

on another note you know these are obsolete items & should plan a bit when buying, I have 4 15" sbp wheels in my shed

So goes the drama of Mopar ownership.

when i ordered the 15x7 with custom backspace wheels for our dart they did tell me 4-6 weeks. why have summit involved in ordering custom wheels? i called wheel vintiques ordered directly from them.. they were here faster than i thought they would be... guess i got lucky

Thank You Fellow FABO's for your input on these different wheels. I need a custom set for my '67 SBP. I think I now know where to look for wheels and where not to look.

Yeah, my math may be a little wonky, but the first date I was given was 3/27. Next it was going to be 4/6. Now they are saying that date won't happen either. I wish I could try somewhere else, but I'm already in too far. Plus, I don't think I would get a refund being special order.

Stockton Wheel has a great reputation.

Team III! He'll make you 4" BC wheels in the designs that can fit it. Almost any offset and width you want too. They are great quality. http://www.team3wheels.com/production_wheels.html I had these custom made a couple years ago:

It seems it is almost every manufacture.
Bought new AMD inner fenders for my duster, paid for them waited 7 months.
Ordered new rims and tires for my Willy's, waited 2.5 months because there was no stock on 2 BFG tires anywhere.
Ordered Pentronix 4 pin hei module with rev limiter in November, received a noticed it shipped last week, still has not showed up at my door.

The thing is, most items I order are usually at my door in a week, so vendors like Summit, Jeg's etc, do an excellent job in getting product to customers fast.

You likely caught them at a bad time. People have all winter when businesses
slow down to get prepared for the season but wait till it warms up a bit and
get caught in the flood of customer orders that wait till its time to get the cars out again.
I wouldn't want them to hire a new guy to handle the rush on any wheels I ordered.
I think it just a timing thing. Better to have experienced help building your wheels.
The company probably had to pay this experienced employee to sweep floors most of
the winter to keep him.
At least its not your dinner your waiting on.
I do hope they get them right for you after your wait. If they can't do that they
may as well hire in some non english speaking temps and ship them right out to you.
Keep your fingers crossed. Old world craft being done in a modern world you know.
There will be a day when there will be no place in this country to order from the way
things are trending.

I had ordered custom centerline wheels through summit in 2006ish. Took close to 6 months to get two and another 2-3 months to get the other. I remember being on the phone every week and kept getting the run around.

Fact is, Wheel Vintiques does their custom backspace wheels in batches. I don't like having to wait weeks either. I ordered a pair of steelies on 3/16 - had missed the "run" by a couple of days.

The sales guy promised me a copy of the order via email. Didn't get it. So, I called on 3/27 to ask about it. Different sales guy couldn't find me in the system. Turns out sales-guy #1 didn't spell my name as I had for him. Email was wrong too.

Sales guy #2 told me they would be painting wheels this week or next and probably go out on the 10th - 'cause they ship on Fridays.

The caps are somewhere on the docks due to the work strike or slowdown, whatever it was. ---o< snip o<---This sucks.

Look for...the union label...when you wonder...why stuff's made overseas...

Glad I changed to the 4.5 bolt pattern years ago , and plan on doing it on the 70 duster before I tub it

wow!! i'm glad i'm just a poor Mo boy, need different wheels, I go to the country yard, $8 ea, but all I need to do I replace those 13's with 14 SBP!!!! $150- $400 a rim, i'd have to take out bank loan!
