Are you street/strip guys and gals wiring electric FP and electric fans through a separate switch, or straight to a IGN ON hot lead??

Can't decide where to put switches, so I'm also looking for ideas there as well. 100% stock dash 69 Dart that I'd rather not drill holes in...

Thanks in advance!

Ash Tray?

I wire my FP and Fans to a switch using relays to carry the load. One fan is on a manual switch, the other has a temp on/off ground switch.

Yessir, relays for both regardless!

Ash tray is a good idea. But my first smart-ash, ash tray idea was already done...

Ima gonna go out on a limb a bit.
Looking at your header question leads me to think that you have not yet purchased the pump and fan(s). So the first question I would pose is what kind of power are you expecting to make? And the second is what percentage of the useage do you expect to be strip?
I know you didnt ask for any opinions on the pump/fan questions, so mums the word.

I'm going to use a Holley Black pump and a Chevy HHR fan, both of which I have "in stock".

As for power? Well, the planned mule motor will be nothing more than a warmed up 400-ish HP 360, then a planned upgrade to a 500-ish HP 408. Heck, I may fast forward to the stroker if I have to sink too much dough in the 360...LOL.

Percentage of street and strip?? Who knows? It will be a street car first with planned strip beatings in the spring and fall months.

I was gonna say ash tray too, but looks like you're not gonna be able to do that. I have my elec fuel and water pumps on manual switches. But no doubt every pump should get its own relay. Other than that, I'm not sure where you could put switches without cutting holes in the dash. Maybe add a switch panel to the bottom of the dash?

Right through the on switch on the ignition..so i know it always turns on...know people that have them on a seperate switch and forgotten to turn them on before a run.."geez how come it slowed down":D:D

That is super sanitary!! Hmmmm, I still have the ash tray...

Thanks. That's what I was going for was a clean, switchless dash. It's tight in there with the wiring but it does the job.

If you run all the fan current thru the key switch, plus the bulkhead connector, I don't think either will last long.

My Fuel pump is on a switch with a relay and fans are also on a switch with relays.

Haha as long as you got a little chuckle out of that Pinterest comment that's all I was going for
