I know I'm skipping around alot with questions. The fuel line on my 65 barracuda seems to be stopped up, new fuel tank, pump, and filter are in place
is there a way to clean the line out. I know I should probably just replace the line, is that the best way to go,
Thanks

you could try to push some compressed air through it - lines ONLY though, you'll have to disconnect the filter

Thanks guys. I hope to be welding floor pans tomorrow and maybe I can drop the fuel tank and disconnect from the pump and try that. Thanks again

Drill with a section of speedo cable preferably a little frayed on one end. Usually stops up in a bend in the tank unit.

Do disconnect both ends of the line. Fuel, in liquid or vapor form, add forced air, combined with welding anything goes boom.

"Boom"...is not good.... Be Careful !!!!! ⚓
Google "Air Fuel Bomb"!

Fuel tank is new and empty. Should I disconnect the fuel line first or would it be okay to weld with the fuel line as is. I replaced the rubber hose that connects the tank to the fuel line

Did you use "fuel injection" rated hose (forgot the SAE J number)? Regular carburetor hose tends to soften from the 10% ethanol in gas today, plus is usually "old stock", which isn't good for rubber things. I read there is a current legal push to increase the ethanol in gas even more.

Compressed air tank and a Nazi?

I'll check the rubber hose. I'm not sure if was rated for fuel injection
I remember it was a short hose that I replaced when I installed the fuel tank last year
Thanks for the advice.
Wish I was off work today. But I will have 4 days off after today.

The fuel I have been using supposedly is ethanol free. The last time I stated that I was told you can't purchase ethanol free gas. In north Carolina it is sold, just don't get caught putting it in the newer cars.
Thought I would just stir up another can of worms.

One can buy ethanol-free gas here in VA at a few places - it cost more but that's OK

Does costs more, but doesn't have some of the drawbacks ethanol does on a 50 year old car. My carburetor supposedly has been built to handle the ethanol, but let it sit for a period of time and the fuel will dry up in the fuel bowl.
The gaskets and pump is supposed to be set up to use ethanol

I run NASCAR Sunoco 110 Leaded.... Mixed with pump premium.... $$$$ Yes, but love the performance & Smell....⚓

Understood. So far I have bought the highest grade, premium I guess, but my car hasn't left the garage under its own power either. Will not be long though, this project will be coming together.

Off work tomorrow. If I don't make any more comments, you will know
