Since only a few hundred GTS convertibles were built each year, just consider yourself lucky if you find any GTS verts in any condition with or without a.c. (a.c. tended to be a rare option in convertibles back then).
I was lucky to stumble upon the 68 GTS vert I bought last week and brought home yesterday. It wasn't the excellent condition example you are looking for. Mine needs alot of work, but I feel extremely lucky to have found it. I was surprised no one beat me to it as it had been on the Central New Jersey Craigslist for 3 weeks before a buddy spotted the ad and told me about it.

I can tell you with near absolute certainty that this car is NOT original. The exact car (including upholstery) was built in the late 1980s by a CHP officer near San Jose from the shell of a '68 GT convertible. I really doubt that two cars would be white with that same cloth upholstery. He sold the car around 1989.

This is the kind of stuff that should scare buyers to dotheir homework and know how to inspect a car in person.

The "one owner" is a lie for sure from the Craigslist article. But note that car is underpriced for a real 383 4sp Conv. The ad says nothing of Docs or being real. And touts "free restoration". Which is what you are buying. Nice driver. I'd guess the value of that clone at $20K maybe at most $25K depending on inspection and it's got some nice parts.

Steve, if it still has the DC k-member that was put into it in 1988 it's got shimmy problems, too. The strut rod support plates were welded on offset and they (Chrysler) just ovaled the holes so that the bushing would go in...

If interested. I have 69 GTS 383. 4-speed convertible. Needs restored.

I just bought a 1 of 58 1969 GTS 340 4 speed myself.
These cars are very rare.
It is NOT for sale.
