I'm going to be buying some superstock springs.i personally like the rake hotrod look.i have always liked the 002/003 but most pics i see someone used lowering blocks.they will be going on 1973 duster currently 318/903/8.25.(future-440/727/dana60.so the stock bottomed out springs.are bad rite now,i really want to replace them asap.so can I see pics of dusters with with superstock springs you are using, add in if they have lowering blocks etc.only ss.springs.i like to keep it mopar.i know there are other part numbers of mopar superstock springs so I'd like to c how they look stance wise and how they come no extra springs,or lowering blocks etc. thanks

Here is my 74 Duster with 002/003 springs. They have maybe 1500 miles on them total so they should be settled good. No lowering blocks and stock shackles. The rims are 15x7.5 with 245-60-15 tires. The diff is an 8 1/4. Mine sits level left to right unlike 002/003 springs from the old days.

Here's my '74 Dart Sport with 002 and 003 Super Stocks on it.
It has a '69 B-Body 8 3/4 in it with the spring perches moved in 1'' on each side and used factory 15 X 6 1/2'' Rallye wheels and 255 60 15 tires and 205 70 14 on the front.
It did sit up more on the right side, but i adjusted the left front torsion bar up about 1 turn to make it sit more evenly.
I also used the M.P. shocks on it and new stock type shackles with new rubber bushings on the back.
On the front mount, i had to open up the mounting bolt hole to 5/8'' and bought a new bolt.
I did install a new brake hose originally for a 1/2 ton Dodge pickup because it was longer and in case i needed it.
They work well and aren't as harsh as everyone says, and for the price, i think they are a bargain.
In the 2 years or so and 1000 miles or so i've gone with it, they have settled about an inch on each side.
I also love the old school look too, and that's why i did it!
To me it was money well spent and i would definitely do it again..........

89on35s,
inferno red is that the name of that color. I really like that color what is it?

Super stock springs sit higher on the right side for a reason. They are made to plant the tires on the track. Will they work on the street? Of course but there are better options for street cars.

Anyone have experience with using the 002/003 and air shocks?I like the rake look I thought the 002/003 sat higher.but they should work.i dunno why people put lowering blocks they aren't that tall lol.when you say that say after time.what if I use the air shocks.not to raise it up but to take some pressure of springs to help against sag.

Brian, that is a Chrysler color. I had it on a Intrepid R/T. It was called Inferno Red Pearl Tricoat. I think the paint code was PEL

You won't need air shocks, lol... (unless you are running rear wheels/ tires that wide...) I highly recommend a,set of 71 Chrysler Imperial rear shocks, or a race adjustable shock, with the same compressed and extended dimensions... You can find those specs, in the Monroe paper catalog,or online...

I`ve got a pair of new imperial shocks, boxed up ready to ship. I changed the bushings in them to fit my 68 form. S barracuda, and had them and the springs on the car, but stumbled across a complete caltrak set up worth the money, and pulled the s.s. springs off. Have them too. I bought them off of Jim Hale, he had them on a 67 barracuda he ran in nhra stock class, if ur interested.

I jacked the rear up by adding 2 inches on the shackles with 002 and 003 springs.

The *** end was not in the air enough to my liking at stock height.
Everyone was/is telling me I will mess the springs up. So far I have no issues.

When you jack the rear up, you shift weight to the front, which of course takes weight off the rear.
If you like how that handles..................So be it.
If you like how that burns off the tires; so be it.
If you like how that stops, and rides, and looks; so be it.
But for crying out loud, don't brake and turn, or gas it and turn, at the same time. That's what "they" are talking about.
On a streeter, and in a straight line;those springs can take anything you can dish out.

No issues with any of those so called problems.
I dead hook and weight is more on the rear then the front.
Gas and turning is scary because she hooks and wants to keep going in the direction of the current momentum like any other vehicle. Be prepared to counter steer.

I dead hook on the street? and weight is more on the rear then the front. Wait what? How was this accomplished? did you set the engine back? or just fill the trunk with concrete? By that theory if you keep on jacking the back up until it is above the front wheels it will be 100% on the ?

That's what I thought. IMO you're car is an accident waiting to happen.Like said IMO.

Wow .... just wow
Think the other way.

If you lower you will have no steering because all the weight is on the rear.
But if you know how to drive a tractor with 2 brakes then I guess it's safe too.

I was a kid once, and I'm not going back there.
But Like I said; if you like the looks, like the handling, like the spinning tires, oh wait somehow yours dead-hooks, etc, there is no argument against what a guy likes.
I mean check out Trebleg's ride. It ain't what I would build, but he loves it else why would he build it thus, and I sure enjoy looking at it. It is sorta what I once built, except mine was; a Duster, a Demon, a Dart-Sport, a Barracuda, etc; and I enjoyed every one of them. See, I got my driver's in 1969, so I've had all kinds of rides.
My car is low for a reason. My front end is light for a reason. My back end is heavy for a reason. It didn't start out this way, but evolved to what it was to satisfy my driving requirement. It did start out sorta like Trebleg's, which I imagine is sorta like yours. But it was undriveable for me,built like that.
So it evolved to what it is.
Now;
My car doesn't plow anymore. It doesn't spin-out or climb curbs anymore. It stops on a dime. And if I ask it to, it will rear steer under dial-a power, no counter steer necessary. And if I get into trouble , I just put a little clutch on it and it snaps back, and says to me; let's try that again.
But yours is,in your own words
"scary"

Get the extra heavy duty springs, same rate both sides and the rake is not to much that it doesn't completely kill the handling....

instead of ss springs why not call espo and get a set of their xhd +2" springs.. i think they would be better then ss springs for a street car.. give ya the same look too only not lopsided..
