Stop in for a cup of coffee

John and Jody are in town for the show. Great to see them again. Thanks very much for the bourbon John. It's always fun to get something that you can't buy here. Today will be real busy. I need to drive out to the track ad drop off some stuff and come back and get the Swinger and take it out. Coffee, shower, and away we go. There's a food vendor close to the shelter house that sells mini doughnuts. Breakfast! LOL

The gear has gotten way better... ROE, social experiments and risk aversion I can do without.
I got in serious troube almost for enforcing no celll phones in the shop. Young ones were pissed and it ran up to the base General. Well our shop productivity went from 67% to 93% in a week, he made it a base rule then. Funny there bit her in the ***.

Heres a good one doing two Marine prestollite distributors for a guys boat, just about the same as a reguar one and I have the books on them. Noticed both reluctors are set for B/RB enginges these are 318's. Have a call in to see if they were running funky for him, pretty sure some one was in these before.
Counter rotating engine? That would explain that.

No the cam is CCW but the dist is CW, gears are cut that way I guess starting mid 70's I think. Double checked the prestoite book and it even says to pin it like a reg LA. Thats the issue. He sent me both same exact part number and they are right and left, fist thing I asked him before he sent it to me. Not versed on them at all.
Both are like that also. Weird.

The guy that collected these trucks passed away a couple years ago. It was a strange accident at his salvage yard. His collection lives on through a good friend of his. Terry and his wife brought out 3 of Phil's trucks for the show.RIP Phil.

Helll in Specops when you did your last flight they used to dump a bucket of that shark dye over you.

I had a great group of guys in California, one day I go into my office they safety wired absolutely everything down. Took months to find it all, even the files in the cabinets, every one of them. Guess night shift was not busy that day.

Another good one we switched the N and M buttons on a supervisors keyboard, he looked and typed. For days all his e mails were histerical, even the O-6 loved it.
We had the coast guard pop one of them things in the reservoir the other year, holy hell the level of investigation and the uproar was about that of a chopper crash.

Im assuming you can spin distributors both directions?
Dumb question, i know..

Phil was blessed with good friends, salvage yards can be a very dangerous place, I seen a shock explode years ago, just missing a friends face by a foot!! Have a great day Mike .

Rained hard yesterday, and more for the next 3 days.
All fire bans have been lifted. Good, i can burn some stuff then.

A line of storms came through MN late yesterday, of course it split and missed us, about 117 1/2 drops of rain, it’s so dry here

So I did get some good news, of 7 people we had as a dod company in Kabul , 5 got out and 2 have supposedly made it to the airport and should be out today!

Same here TJ, rained the last couple days.
Today I am heating up some antifreeze and poring it in a 15 hp out board to try and free it up, and at the same time heat up the power head, hope it does the trick, an old fellow told me it would, this picture is a match to my 56 twin, my picture is to large transmission fluid has been setting in it for two week's.

Yes I can but The Prestolite books which are factory rebuild manuals say they are CW also. He needs to call me I bet his phasing was out in the boat, pretty sure some one was in these in the past the paint ooks ike it went on with a brush on both of them. I just do not do returns.

I will try anything, this engine i have looks like it was all gone threw and ran just a few hours, most likely a fellow used it for a while and past away, kids just let it set outside

WSell talked to the boat guy it is confirmed the timing was always messed up on both engines. It is 180 out!

Happy Saturday, nothing new here other than I moved off Seabrook Island, condo sold in three days for the full asking price, can't blame the owner for selling. The Fury won't have all the mess from the Oak trees. Quiet place near Charleston but close to everything. Maybe I'll have more friends stop by, just turn at the Money Man pawn shop. :steering:

Good morning Civilized people of planet FABO, and Hoppy and anyone else I missed…
