Chop em up and spit them out. That's the main reason I have to get mine going today (spindle)
Mulch is good in limited amounts. I have a ton of black walnuts (5 trees) they take a few goings overs!
Wind finally blasted off the last of the pears out of the pear trees...but the red maple leaves are still hanging in there

I do mulch through both here. But there is a limit to how much you can do effectively at one time. Especially when the leaves are wet and matted down. I did rake off the walnuts around the woodpile-the neighbors pine trees are right there,...
Partly cause they kill the grass, but more so I don't bust an ankle walking on them. The ones down back I mow over. Makes quite a racket when the blades hit them. LOLGearfinger

Black walnuts are off the hook this year. Yeah... I walk the ground ahead of time and chuck them into the woodline...
That would be a lot of chucking...At least several hundred down back.
Wife parks her car in it. 3 years i havent swept it off after a night time snowfall. its due for a new cover soon. I will get one made locally,good for 25 years.
I use a steel rake.... But I'm a glutton for punishment... Area Beautification.
