Sent a front spoiler to Saskatchewan to a guy on FABO and took 2 weeks to get there and 51 bucks to ship it. In the States it's 15 bucks.
Sounds like he's happy with it and that makes me happy.

Good morning and happy Friday , got a serious question for a Friday morning, I’ve been thinking about moving jobs to another shop just not sure if I should pull the trigger, both have pros and cons just a little up in the air right now , have a few more years to retire to switch or not to switch , stay with the devil you know or move ??
So Biff, it depends if the new job has benefits or a pension. Any history of working with the new guy? Might want to talk to one of the guys working there. You might be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Sometimes you're better off to stick it out and bide your time there. Is the new guy offering you more money? If he is would your old boss match it to keep you? All kinds of questions before jumping.
Is it an hourly or a flat rate shop? I would never work flat rate again as your always fighting the clock.
Talk it over with your wife and see what she says. Good luck.

Ok its same money , I have worked with him and the other mechanic , the shop is kept way nicer and he buys shop equipment , it's a 10 minute drive I currantly walk to work , my wife says no . She has been at her job for 28 years I change every 8/10 & its coming up on 10 ?

I too will never work flat rate again although when your standing around no body can say why aren't you working .

Nor did they have too. I’m realizing that working flat rate has just about everything to do with what is wrong with me physically AND mentally.

Just need a good friend to hang out with once in a while. I know I need it just like all of us I think.

Never made as much money as I did working piece work. Got payed per block in the wall. Over hand masonry, bricklayer joke, quality went out the window, just slam’em in. Wasn’t long before we went back to hourly. Owners thinking they could boost productivity, that they did, but at what cost.

I’m a grass isn’t always greener on the other side kind of guy, but that is just me.It does have its perks.I have worked at the same dealership since I was 19 years old.Worked my way up as a senior tech.I have 4 weeks paid holidays. In my opinion, if u are unhappy on a daily basis where you are,it might be time for a move.As long as the new shop is busy, pay is fair and the there are no big egos to deal with I say give it a shot.Another thing to consider is the type of work they bring in. Large fleet trucks, cube vans and motor homes are a huge negative for me.RJ

Good point.

In the BAC union you go where they tell you to go, most bricklayers float around for a couple of years until they find an outfit were they fit. Then they stay there until something happens with the management, wages, benefits and the like are the same you work for the union. Different animal I guess
