Steve doesn’t realize how much his photos help me tuning my chassis. Being by yourself I get very little feedback other than seat of the pants. This car feels so much calmer since I went from a 1.98 low gear to a 1.80 this year. The car is still so much fun to drive and still plants the tire nicely. Steve doesn’t know it yet but he has a steak dinner coming.

I'd say she hooks pretty good.
Does pretty good for being built by a shade tree mechanic.:D

Man looks like a darn good launch! I would say well done for a guy that hangs out at Walmart getting pix of all those beautiful women! Hehehehe!
On serious note, did you start cutting your lights more consistently again? I may be behind, but last I knew you were dialing in your reaction time as you were all over the map a couple of races ago? PS that’s a wall hanger photo!

We shall find out this weekend. I know it’s me because last time out I cut a .002 and put .007 in the box for first round and cut a .009. Not racing at all last year hurt. Covid and being sick 5 months hurt, inactivity hurt, lack of practice tree hurt, but I’m working on it. I lost 20 pounds in three months without being able to take my walks because of my knees. They say brain fog is an issue especially with the first Covid virus back in 2020 when I got it. I know I struggle with concentration and my breathing was affected so I’m trying to work on that too. I’m also getting older (now 66) and although I can do this 100% by myself I also know that I can’t be cruising the pits bs’ing in the sun like I used to. I’ll
Let you know this weekend how my extra work is paying off.

You see...I was sitting all nice on my couch, not working on my car to avoid the heat. Then I see this photo and I think "Damn, I miss racing"

Now I'm sweating.

I like the slow mo's of the Mopar front suspensions when these land, you'd be suprised what is bending down there and rebounding. Thats a gret shot: What f-stop and lens is he using?

That I couldn’t tell you. Steve would probably help my out with my taking pictures if I asked but I’ve seen some of his lens and I couldn’t afford one anyway. He’s entered some local competitions and has done well. If you have Facebook check out his work.

So what do you see wrong with that launch? maybe pulling the wheel up to high????
I agree, that needs to be on a picture frame on your wall!!!!!:thumbsup:

I’m pretty satisfied right now with that leave. I’ve been dragging my feet on rebuilding my other transmission that has the 1.98 gearset. Another set of 1.80’s would probably cost 750.00 or so. I can make them work with shock adjustments but I now have raced at 7-8 events this year and probably 12-13 races without taking my hood off except for tech. I’m thinking I may see if I can get 350-400 dollars out of the used 1.98 gears.

If the lenses were huge, that makes sense. Its hard to get bokeh (blurred background) and a fast shutter speed on a telephoto unless its $$$ and has an object lens the size of a pickle jar. Nice.....Is your front suspension limited to how far it can extend? It looks like the wheels are staying up there instead of drooping like a few other shots.

I have a strut frontend with no limiters. Single adjustable

this car was a very old school build done many years ago with box tube frame. It had an Edelbrock headed 340 with a very expensive CRT 727 and ran 11.80’s@2525 pounds. I got it into the mid 10’s and had a good friend of mine update the frontend. Back then it had an old Mercury Capri strut on it and I tried finding parts just in case something broke and I couldn’t even find brake parts. So not wanting to get stuck and unable to race I updated it. So then I sold the fiberglass doors and went with stock doors with wind up windows and a few other goodies to make it oldman friendly. Now it weighs 2860-2880

What a shot !! Great picture, and looking at the chassis and tires you had it dialed in sir
