Stop in for a cup of coffee

Ted and I had lotsof fun today. The 9 3/4 Rye was a winner. I had 15 promised. We got 18. (good thing). Stopped at Dave Johnson's store to restock with a couple of barrel picks and went to The Vineria for some wine Ted wanted. Got home and sipped in a couple on Ted's patio. I am now downtown watching the city's parade. Cheers!

are e-mails linked to your phone account so people get a message when you get their e-mail and can't wait for a response they call? just sat down, opened e-mail and saw a fellow from the properties board had e-mailed...twice.
started reading older e-mails first and phone rings. Mr. double e-mail wants to know when and what times I want to work this summer as custodian. The full-time fellow will be back Monday, released by Doc with no restrictions. Found out he was off with cardiac problems. And he is going to work a full day, five days a week in little or no A/C? Another fellow and myself will come in just before he leaves and clean up after the seventy children finish their computer classes. at least five rooms to clean, four bathrooms. all second floor. should be cooking by the time we get there at two thirty in the afternoon. UNLESS, nice option, we wish to avoid heat and arrive at five or so in the morning. I guess my "I don't really feel like working full-time" went in one ear and out the other. the other fellow is to be trained by me. maybe he will be able to handle it all by himself after a week or two? Rant over. better get off butt and clean A/C unit outside so I can have some coolness when I get home. Mopar car show Sunday, better get some new batteries.

Cop pulled me over for a burned out taillight, must have burned out after I left cause cameras showed both working. And in the middle of that , we learned that the BMV bungled the plate transfer when I bought the truck, which confused the hell out of the cop because the registration has my information on it as it should, but the ex-owners information pulls up in the system… which the plates expire at the end of June anyway and I was going to the BMV today to renew them but that turned into a 2.5 hour debacle. Got it fixed

Then I had to replace the front brake caliper that I just replaced last month, Napa wouldn’t honor their warranty, claimed it was a close out sale . so had to buy a new one, which took 3 different parts stores to find one. But hey, it’s back together

Then we found the storage unit where we’d rented to store stuff for the house has water leaks and had to move from one unit to another. Luckily no damage to our stuff. That was a time killer.

Then the new siding guy basically didn’t finish this week, wants an additional 6k ontop of the original contracted amount to finish. Citing “poor workmanship by previous contractor requiring re-work and extra costs”.

Anyone else feel the need to just pack up, leave and say f$$k it, I’m gonna go live in a van by the river?!?

After last night's party across the road , And not getting in till Early this morning. I'm staying in with the cat tonight.
 

Got my bezels in, wonder how many cans of Argent spray paint I could buy for 292 dollars, I'd have given this a try for sure. Granted the new bezels are in better shape but sheesh! New bezel on the right

yup, nothing works anymore, nothing, at least dealing with "public things"
with the professionalism of the last siding guy, or lack there of, consider this guy may be on the up & up.
get him to show you why the 6K, you may have a lagit claim on the previous contractor

if the previous siding guy scam'd you on the right way to do it, and this guy wants it right,
you found an honest siding guy, maybe for life

better to find out now than 5-10 years later and water damage

and generally goof off for the summer in the dart afterwards
it gets cold, I'm gone back to Tx
