MSD Ignition Digital E-Curve Pro-Billet Distributor

The all new Digital E-Curve Distributor will drop right in your engine and fire up with three simple connections! Not only are there no external controls or boxes to mount and connect, but you can set a timing curve with the twist of a rotary dial! That’s right, no more springs or stop bushings to fumble with. A new digital module lets you choose from 20 different ''centrifugal'' curves and five vacuum curves - that’s 100 combinations! Simply remove the cap to get to the rotary dials and choose a curve to match your application. You can also set an rpm limit that will protect your engine from overrev damage caused by a missed shift or driveline failure. This limit is adjustable from 5,000-10,000 rpm. These adjustments are possible due to an advanced digitally controlled ignition module. Not only does this module offer these adjustable options, it also produces a hearty jolt of energy to the coil to produce a powerful spark that will fire up your engine’s performance. Also, a magnetic pickup is used for reliable and accurate trigger signals throughout the entire rpm range of your engine. The E-Curve Distributor is topped with MSD’s Rynite molded cap and rotor and is supplied with a heavy duty gear and a matching 3-pin Weather tight wiring harness.

It seems very cool, if you know what you want for a curve, you can mod your stock distributor as well.

That's what I was thinking because the mildly modified 340 I have now is destined to be replaced with a stroker at some point and could be revamped as necessary.

I was looking at this distributor also. Like how you dont need a ignition box, it would help clean things up. was wondering if it delivers the same output as a 6al?

I used an E-Curve in my 69 Barracuda with 408, it is now in my 86 360 Ramcharger.

The distributor works fine, and is easy to change the curve, once you figure everything out.

In my case I wanted 35 total in by 2200 RPM.
To set this up, you set your intial timing (lets say 10 degrees)
Then you set your curve to 25 degrees in by 2200 RPM, then add the vacuum advance you want.

All of this is in the instructions that come with the distributor, and you can also go to the MSD site and look through their forum for more advice.

The reason I removed it from the Barracuda is that the E-Curve is taller then stock and was way to close to my 3 speed wiper motor. It is still close on the RC, but has more room.

It's inductive rather than capacitive. Think more HEI than 6AL. Whether your engine needs the extra output is going to depend on RPM and cylinder pressure.

While I'm thinking of it, if anyone would like to buy my E-Curve and wires let me know. The distributor has only been run about 500 miles and the wires are the MSD 8mm ones for a small block (you can see them in the pictures I posted earlier).

While I like the distributor, it is overkill for my RC. I also want to put a TQ on the RC and a stock distributor with more advance. This is all in an effort to get better MPG.

I'm looking to get $275 out of the setup, including shipping to the lower 48 states. I will ship to Canada for the actual cost of shipping plus the $275.

If anyone is interested please contact me via PM, I'm located in Ohio and will be attending the Nationals on Saturday August 8th.

Thanks,

I have the e-curve on my 408ci in my 65 barracuda.I haven't started the engine yet but the fit is good on an early-a body.

have had mine running for bout 2, 3 years now on the 71 swinger. the one boot is almost rubbing the stud and nut of the wiper motor.

Anyone using the new MSD e-curve distributor?

Hi. I ended up getting an E-curve for my 350, pretty much stock motor. I put it in my 1976 toyota land cruiser fj40. The only problem I ever had with the distributor was trying to figure out the settings, the instructions that come with it are pretty bad. Ended up getting a program on the internet to take care of that for me. www.cammhsm.com

Anyway, it seems to work fine and very easy to re-curve. I never curved a regular distributor before so I went with this one thinking it would be easy, and it is. I set it at the fastest curve with 20 degree's advance of the curve with the lock out at around 34 degrees. This distributor works backwards from what I am use to, but you guys are probably aware of all that. I was born in 1955 and am kind of old fashion still. Anyeay, this gives me about 14 degree's advance at idle and 34 degrees by 2,000 rpm with vacuum set at I think 15 degrees with 4-10 hg. So I am running around 48 degree's with all idle and electrical advance and vacuum advance combined, trying to get good gas mileage. When I step on it 34 is the tops degree of the curve. I am using the MSD box 6AL I think it is called and super conductor wires, 8 mm I think. Hard to remember all this stuff anymore. I guess there are some clearance issues with the E-curve but I don't really know anything about that kind of stuff. All in all, I like it and it seems to work fine, although I have not driven it hard or long yet or got into creeks, mud and snow with it yet, but I plan on it.

Hey, some nice looking motors on this thread, looking good.

Looks like a great Christmas present.

How can I sell this idea to my Wife?

P.S. anybody else using this dizzy, please chime in with your experiences.

Mine would not work with an e-coil.

I put a tradiontional oil filled coil (blaster 2) and all has been well for 7 years now.
